Horrible 1/8 expierance

So I took my G down to Mid America Motorplex in Glenwood, IA to try the 1/8 mile last night. My dumb@#s leave the VDC on....forgot to turn it off, stumbled off the line. Then proceeded to grind the **** out of 2nd gear. My old car used to smash out there. The G not so much.

Sounds like driver error more than your car.

Oh...it was driver error no doubt...lol. I got all escited when I pulled to the line I forgot to turn VDC off. I raced an Eclipse, I trapped higher than he did...so I was catching him. Just wish it was a 1/4 and not a 1/8.

Bump! Then why put the blame on your G since you admit to driver error? Our G35s weren't designed for the drags and the mods you've made thus far didn't help.... You'll do better watching the tree not your opponent, racing this way you've already lost!

Point well taken, my Saleen did much better. The G isn't anywhere near what I used to own. But it shouldn't grind the mess outta second gear either. The VDC issue is my bad. Lesson learned.....

I am confused. Does it usually grind when you put it into second? I am hoping that you have the 6mt. is this the first time it was grinding? maybe the grinding was also due to driver error?

No, doesn't normally grind. It's done it once before...but not normal. Car's got 70K on it, so when I go to have a better clutch/flywheel installed soon i'll have them check that out then.
