Street/Strip Tire and wheel

I have an 05 G35 sedan automatic with bolt ons and a 75shot. I want to increase the shot and get a tune, but the tires are barely holding a 75 shot in 1rst gear and I like to spray out the whole. Currently running 20x10s in the back with a 275/35/20 Yoko S Drive. rims and tires look nice but arent ideal for racing (too heavy and not sticky enough)

The car has the 3.3 vlsd diff in it. As seen in video car doesnt have much traction. If i torque brake then go WOT the car just spins all thru first. If i delay the nitrous hit by a second it spins less, but still more than ideal. I want to be able to torque brake, go WOT and hook.

I found some RX-7 16x8in rims for sale for $300. They weigh 16lbs and some people on the forum use them. Or maybe 350z 18x8.5 track wheels-19lbs.

I want either Mickey Thomson ET Streets Radials or ET Streets Radials II.
16x8 ET Streets-P255/50R16--26X10.50R16--treadwidth-9.6inches
ET Streets II-P295/50R16--28X11.50R16--treadwidth-10.8inches
or
18x8.5 Et streets II-P245/40R18--26X9.50R18--treadwih-8.5inches

Forget the 18s, you want a 16" rim so that you can get the tallest tire in there. Short sidewalls are not ideal for drag racing. Get a tire closest to 26". You're going to need to do a decent burnout to get them warm.

Seems like your all over the map here. If you go with a 16,17 or 18 your options get less and less for good tires(at an affordable rate). I run a 15 x 9.5's with a 275 60 15 m/t drag radial. I also run a line lock set up on the car allowing me proper burn out. Launch is good but beware if you are trying to take off out of the hole like crazy, carnage will happen. I had a dead hook and ended up with a broke drivers side axle. My car is a 06 coupe with a few bolt ons. The g also has a well tuned suspension set up to include solid diff bushings to lock the rear up and prevent wheel hop. With the wieght you are trying to transfer and the hook you are trying to get it is going to be a reality for you that something will break. Pm me if you have any questions talk soon bro Mike

Mike,

He will not be able to launch as hard as you due to being 5at on a stock convertor N/A on spray may be a different story. I finally picked up some 15x9 wheels with 275/60/15 BFG drag radials. Hope to try them out this Friday at the track.

I have the parts for your intake just getting up the funds to send to you by the end of Apr or earlier.

Derek

No problem derek. Talk soon.

As far as auto there is always the power drop hahahahaha. But regardless if you were to launch an auto sedan and spray out of the hole you are going to get a huge amount of wheel hop. So, to the op of the thread... go easy on the launch till you figure out which route you are going to go. If your wheel/tire combo grip your diff is going to bounce around (rubber bushings). Talk soon Mike
