I agree with partyman, unless your buddy is a terrible driver, the mustang has a better chance.
The mustang puts down the power through a live axle. Great for drag racing, but not so great for handling.
You have some nice mods to give you some extra juice, but at the end of the day there's no replacement for displacement.

I'm sure your car is as fast or faster than most 5AT NA coupes....and would be fairly equal to a G with a HR 6MT.
I still would lean towards the mustang winning. Not bagging on you or your G just speaking from someone who has experience with both cars.
When I bought my latest G last summer, I chose it over a '11 5.0 because of the styling & overall feel and handling....not over how fast one was compared to the other.
If you go FI, beef up your tranny and install a stall converter, then I would bet on your G.
All this is "on paper" talk, if you want to know for sure, go to a track & run against your buddy.
Post the times & best of luck.

2005 G35 0-60 5.5 sec. 1/4mi 13.9
2005 Mustang GT 0-60 5.3 sec. 1/4mi 13.9
I'm not sure why you guys don't consider the G fast. This would absolutely be a drivers race. No one would be embarrassed. There are a number of cars that are considered "fast" and are actually slower than the G. It does feel slow because of the weight, but let's not be fooled.

Zeroto60times has the '05 GT 6MT at 5.0 & 13.3 in the quarter. GDirty's figures for the G is probably 6MT. 5 AT is probably closer to 6.0 and 14.5
Bolt ons and a tune isn't enough to make up a 1 second gap.
Again all of these posts are talk, speculation and estimations. OP and his buddy running them at a track will be the only way to know for sure.
OP, don't race on the streets, make sure you go to a track.
