Torque Converter not unlocking

Hey Guys, (Sorry in advance for the longgggggg post)

First off I am in Australia so I have a JDM model. it is a 2003 5AT, with 128K Kms (79K Miles),I had the transmission flushed in December of 2012 with Castrol Transmax E (Had no problems up until a few weeks). The car is tuned with UPRev about a year or so ago and just the other day I got the car scanned for any errors and there weren't any.

So over the last few weeks the problem has got really bad. As far as I can tell this happens after about 10 or so minutes of driving, sometimes its quicker than that and sometimes it takes a bit longer but it will eventually happen. Its seems to starts off intermittently, so it happens every now and then but the more I drive, the more chances of it happening (pretty much 100% of the time)

I am no Transmission expert so I could be completely wrong so please correct me if I am. The problem occurs at any speed but it is a lot more noticeable at lower speeds 30-60KPH (20-40MPH). When I take my foot off the accelerator the car will slow down a lot quicker than usual, the revs drop but don't bounce back. However if I slightly tap the accelerator , the car shudders, almost like a manual going to stall. Like there is slack in the drivetrain. I believe this is the TC not unlocking?.

But if I go into "Manual" mode the TC unlocks 100% of the time, When I take my foot off the accelerator I can see the revs drops and then bounce back up ( I believe this is the TC unlocking?). As soon as I go back to "Auto" mode, it goes right back to what I was saying above.

So to sum up, while driving in "Manual" mode the car drives exactly the same way it has since I have owned it, nice and smooth. But when I go into "Auto' mode, I get those symptoms I mentioned above.

Can anybody PLEASE explain to me or have any idea of what is going on!??

Thankyou for your time

I don't really know man I got a 6MT but here's a bump.
maybe someone can help you out, sounds like something the transmission shop should go through though..

I thought I would update, in case this has happened/is happening to anyone else

Still no error codes or warning lights.

I got the fluid flushed and that has helped quite a lot, it is unlocking now! but still not all the time.

I found out whilst in Manual mode the torque converter is always locked hence why it doesn't happen in Manual Mode, herp derp.

So I'm thinking its a solenoid perhaps like this: http://engine-codes.com/p0744_infiniti.html

and like this site mentions about halfway down about the solenoids: http://etereman.com/blog/automatic-t...5-transmission
