New Clutch Recommendations

Hey everyone. I have. 2005 coupe, and I am up for a new clutch. I have a few questions. First off, I need a suggestion for a new clutch. I want a dual mass to avoid the cement mixer noise. I daily drive it and occasionally race it. What would be an ideal clutch for these standards? Also, do you recommend buying this clutch off eBay? I've heard of replicas being sold on there, any personal experiences with this? Lastly, do you recommend doing this myself? I have medium car experience, never with a dual mass though. I just need some personal experiences with all of these situations. Thanks in advance!

Stay with the OE clutch, unless you do weekly runs at the drags it should last 100K miles if you know how to use it! Have a transmission shop install it for you, there's too many ways to mess up the install unless you've done it before...Gary

I know the stock is dual mass lol.

But thanks, I found a local shop to do it for 380. But the oem is so expensive compared to aftermarket. I'm thinking about getting ACT or something along those lines. Anyone had one?

I got the JWT Clutch and Flywheel combo and I love it. The clutch chatter isn't too bad now that it is broken in and the grab is crazy. Compared to the OEM, it seriously puts the power to the pavement.

I too have the JWT clutch pack.

If you don't like the noise, just leave out the light weight flywheel and use OEM.

There ARE advantages to using the JWT flywheel, however. Namely you can REPLACE the friction surfaces. You can't do that with OEM, you can't even machine it.

I love the JWT combo. The chatter is not bad at all. If you pair it with an exhaust that is a little louder than stock and a CAE, you can barely hear it: even at its worst.

I have a custom exhaust, with a really deep note but not all that loud, still very noticeable from stock though. I'd rather go ful JWT instead of using oem flywheel. I probably will just suck it up with the chatter and get the JWT. Anyone know a good site for this clutch?

What exhaust do you have btw? I am looking for something not loud in the cabin (girlfriends request) but deeper and keeping that sexy stock note.

I will watch some videos on the chatter, I am basically between an ACT and a JWT, I've heard act is quieter. Some people have been suggesting a nismo flywheel and then an ACT/JWT clutch.

Custom exhaust as I said before. My buddy is great with exhausts and cars in general, and made an amazing exhaust for me. It is comparable to te motordyne tdx2, which you might like. I was going for the exact thing as you. A nice deep note but not too loud.
