Manual Transmission Question

Manual Transmission Question
So I have an 04 6MT, the syncros are toast and need to be replaced. Instead of having the tranny rebuilt I was just going to buy a used one with about 50/60k miles on it.
Are the 6MT the same through the years? Could I put an 05 6MT in my 04 or did they change something between the years. Looking online I keep seeing different transmissions for the 04s such at thru 09/03 and after 10/03 trannys. Any information will help.
Thanks

03-04 6MT is CD001-008, they had issues with grinding. The 05-07 is a CD009, but will still fit and is actually more desirable. Only minor changes to increase reliability.
CD001-CD004 = Single cone synchros on all gears
CD005-CD008 = Double cone synchros on 2nd and 3rd
CD009 = Triple cone synchros on 2nd and 3rd
The new transmission replacement definitely repairs the synchromesh problem (grinding) reported in the earlier version. The newer transmission version shifts more smoothly and the gate locates gears faster and better than earlier version
