Weird Noise When Clutch is Pressed

Weird Noise When Clutch is Pressed
Like the title suggests, Just today my car developed a weird noise whenever I press the clutch in. The noise gets louder as it's pressed further. It sounds like a whirling noise, that's really the only way I can explain it.
This is my first car, and I'm not 100% sure when the clutch was replaced as the service documents had an "accident" (my fault ). From what I remember, it's probably been 40k miles since it's been replaced. This is my first manual car ('05 OB 6MT), so I obviously screwed up learning around town and on the highway learning techniques.
After some research, I believe it's the throw out bearing. And as far as I've seen, it completely makes sense (not to be a backyard mechanic or look at it as a WebMD "diagnosis"). It doesn't affect the way it shifts at all, in fact, it feels exactly the same. No slippage or grinding. And it only makes the noise when the clutch is pressed down.
Now, in everyone else's opinion, is this what sounds reasonably correct? If it is, approximately (throw out an educated guess, something is better than going blank slated day by day) how long do I have until it locks up and needs to be replaced?
I can provide a video tomorrow, sometime between or before work.
(side note, first post!)

mine clicks every now and then, and I can feel it jitter a little if I'm playing with it. It shifts totally fine, but sometimes when it's cold it like to clunk when I shift in reverse. Also, is it just me or can you NOT feel the clutch disengage in these? My last car was an E30 with a sport clutch, so it was heavy, and I felt everything. In this I just have to memorize where the sweet spot is, instead of feeling it.

Sorry I was late to reply.
mjfenix, it wasn't in short bursts. It was just like a whirling sound. Best way I can describe it would be like "WSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHCCCCCCCCCCCCC" constantly when the clutch was pressed in.
I decided to replace the flywheel, clutch, all the bearings and whatnot. Works perfectly now. Didn't last more than 2 weeks lol.
