Just completed the job and it took about 2 hours and I am no mechanic by any means. Although I did mess up connecting the two rear coils on the driver side and that caused the engine to have problems on the initial fire up. I see the importance of making sure all of the wires are marked properly before taking them off or doing one at a time. Also the passenger side is a mother bear compared to the driver side. I also dropped a fastener that holds on the wire harness and the dealership did not stock those bolts; I ended up at a hardware store and found the same bolt for less than a dollar.
Thanks to everyone who put this DIY together, it really helped.

Nice write up bro. I noticed your plugs really needed some changing. Have you noticed any difference in the vehicles performance?

Not sure of the firing order but the plug closest to the fire wall on the drivers side came out of the cylinder head with oil on it. The tip of the coil pack also had oil on it. Prior to the plug change I didn't notice a loss of compression. I'm not too concerned right now but if I start to foul the coil pack it's gonna be a bitch of a job. I've seen small quantities of oil in other cars but wasn't sure if it was common to the G35. Has anyone else observed small quantities of oil on any of the plugs during a plug change? Btw, the other 5 plugs were clean and had normal wear.

^ Ok, just a follow up on the oiled plug. Ran the car hard this morning and no issues. Pulled the plug about an hour after the run and it's clean. There is still a small amount of oil in the socket and on the tip of the coil pack but nothing on the bottom of the plug.

Should we index the plugs when changing them? What size washers would you all recommend?

I'd like to know this too.

In addition, what do you guys know about the Iridiums vs. the OEM plugs?

The OEM plugs are platinum vs. iridiums. The ones on the newer G's are iridium and the nismo ones are also iridiums. A side by side has not been done yet but I'm sure iridiums would be beneficial to us. I'm assuming that since our plugs are platinum, there should be changed every 100k miles.

I'll be changing mines out for iridiums @ 60k miles.

PLEASE READ: mark the front of the plugs, the side with the gap, with a sharpie.

when you are tightening them, try to get the front side to face the intake side of your cylinder head.

Yeah, I am familiar with this strategy, however, in such low horsepower applications it's irrelevant, at least from what I've read. Still, it wouldn't hurt if someone went through the extra effort to mark and align.. I'd be concerned with over tightening/under tightening the plugs though; be careful.
