ses light code p1084 HELP!

I had my ses light come on a few days ago, so I took it to my mechanic. He said it came back with this code p1084 and it says EXHAUST VALVE TIMING VOLTAGE CIRCUIT BANK 2. WTF does that mean? He checked and found that my car was 3 quarts low on oil, even though it had only been 2300 since my last oil change. He did a new oil change and reset the ecu. Problem fixed right? WRONG. 3 hours later SES light back on. Now i guess I need to take the MREV 2 and spacer off and go to infiniti. Anyone else with this problem or advise? I searched and saw a lot about oil problems and ses codes, but not the one I have.

So do you think I should take the MREV 2 and spacer off before I go to infiniti?

i read it could be because of low oil not pumpin into your variable cam gearsso it reads off and sets off a code. not sure but worth a shot

so you have oil consumption issues. id look into getting a motor if you're still under warranty. and they wont be able to tell if you have a plenum on it. spacer maybe, but both are irrelevant to that code. did they change the sensor on the front or the cam sensor in the back? that would be the far right sensor up front if you are staring at your motor.

Believe it or not, as of last week my light went out. Days before it I kept asking myself why the car drives better, and not idle high anymore. I was so use to seeing the light on, that I wouldn't notice it being off. So I took a good look at my dash and the check engine light disappeared. The car drives normal.

The manual did state to check to change the engine oil, check the harness, and sensor for debris. Only thing I did was change the oil... twelve hundred miles later the light went out.

Good luck and please keep me updated.

I think (hope) my issue was bad ground. I replaced my battery about two months ago. The post on the new battery was smaller than the old one, smaller than the clamp will go. I replaced the cable and after driving twice as far as the light was coming on it has not come back (yet)

With my issue the light came back on. I had the same code error read at Auto Zone. I finally changed the driver side cam sensor and thousands of miles later, no light and power has restored.
