Have loud squeaking noises at cold starts before and after belt changes..

Hey guys, i have a problem 2 months ago my car started to make loud squeaking noises at start up when it got cold, when i turn on the car to warm it up, this annoying noise started coming from the belts on the left side, i thought it was the belts so i decided it's time to change them because apparently the first owner never changed them for 35k miles that's when i bought the car at the dealer and drove the car till 41k miles and this stupid loud noises stated to happen even after i changed the belt it's still going on like something is loose but it's not.

After i warm it up and drive it i still hear that stupid loud noise even after i hit the gas and then slow down the squeaking noise starts again on the street, but after i drive it on the highway for like 15 min it goes away and its fine. This stupid **** happens only when the car sits for like 5 Hrs or overnight turn it on next day and the the noise comes back again. So i have to ask did anyone ever have this problem? I'm thinking some of the stock pulley's are ****ed up. Thanks.

i have the exact same problem. Im guessing either the belts are too tight or too loose.

yep, too tight or too loose.

Mine only happens once or twice that I didn't bother adjusting it. Now that i think about it, it only happened when i had my A/C on at start-up. More likely, it's probably that belt with the A/C compressor and not the other one.

I was thinking a tension gauge would help, but with the way belts stretches. It'll only be a matter of days until the tension is off again. Looks like it's one of those ten million things where the G is so picky.

bad tensioner maybe?? i wouldnt think a squeal is normal .. only thing is maybe since its cold out when u park ur belts are pretty hot and over night they collect condensation so when u start it up its squeals for a bit till the water is dispersed? jus turn ur radio up 8-) lol jk gl

its in the esm under SDS (service and data specs) and any local tool dealer who sells kent moore products can get it for you IE: Snapon, Matco, etc... if i have time to day i'll pull them out of my tool box and get the part numbers off of them.

^ it got a little better, but i still have it. I didn't buy the tool above your post yet to make with in the specs. I will update when i will find out what is making the noises if it's not the belts.

might want to try wiping the belt side of pulley..
there might be "excess" grease that's making your belts slip.
