The stock plug p/n is PLFR5A11 / 6240...which is the premium class. Same class the the iridium equivalent.

If you want the 6240's, i beleive you can go to most parts stores and pick them up...for cheaper than that price too. I think Autozone is $10/each


www.rockauto.com is also a good site to order from. They have the iridiums (4469) for $7.50 and the OE plats (6240) for $10.50

You can get the iridiums here for $6.95/ea and that includes shipping. Hard to beat that price, even for stock plugs.

Next Best, probably not necessary, but wouldn't hurt. I was talking to Richard at Uprev and he suggested I change mine out in anticipation of a tune. I have 52,000 miles.

+1. Changed the plugs in the 05 sedan that I traded for my 04 coupe at 55K miles......was a waste of money! Plugs were fine! Only reason to do it is to check for oil leaking into plug chamber.

Mine really feels hesitant at times. Ima change mines, if they are fine at least my car will have new ones.

Why you ask. The dealers are hurting right now. People are cutting back on maintenance of there cars and when they do maintenance work its not at the dealer. Infiniti scheduled maintenance call for changing the plugs at 105K. Why did you change at 60K?

50 for an oil change, 200 to change a battery. Telling me I need to change my belt at 50K. They can shove it. At this time they should be helping the owners save some money instead of trying to squeeze even more money out of us. You can never trust a dealer.

Actually, I don't think people are cutting back on maintenance. I think maint. is on the rise as people decide to drive their cars longer with no car payment vs. buying a new one. Once about 6-7 yrs ago, I had a combined $700 a month for my G and my wife's SUV($350 each car or so)(put an azz-load down for downpayment all with the wifey as stay at home mom for 6.5 yrs now). When both cars were 4 yrs old, they were paid off and I've had no car payment for 2, 2.5 yrs and it is nice. Now, $75,000 worth of cars, now worth combined $26k private party on a good day. Both have 50-52k mi and impeccably maintained--mechanically and appearance wise. I think I'm going to pay my house off before in the next 5 yrs then upgrade both cars FTW.

$40-45 is about right for an infiniti dealer oil change ($32 would be better). If $200 includes a good battery, I say that's fine given my experience before!!(better to do that yourself in your garage though!)(after having my G die in the parking lot of autozone when I waited too long too replace a battery; ended up changing the battery in the parking lot with no help--it was a pain in the ***; I was hoping to have the car start and do it in my garage--oh well; when my current batt. is 4 yrs old, I will change whether it needs it or not--the TX heat is killa on batteries).

Belts at 50Kmi.......what's wrong with that? My G has 52,000 mi and in service 2 mo. shy of 7 yrs and I just did the belts at the dealer. I will have the coolant, engine oil/filter, air filter, ATF, and rear diff. done in a few weeks at the dealer. My thing is if you can do it yourself and save money great. If you don't have time and you trust your dealer and price it out at Nissan for comparison and its just a tad bit higher for someone else to do it while you drive a nice loaner car to do your thing.......thats cool for me. As long as the price is fair and you do the maintenance BEFORE your car misfiers (plugs), before your car overheats (coolant), before your belts snap, before your AT goes bad (ATF) etc its all good. I will do the plugs at 100kmi but my car will be 12 years old at that time and I might do it at 80kmi and 10 years old. Its all good. I just hope the dealer does not find oil in the spark plug hole. Btw, its ok if the dealer makes money on service as long as it's fair. I know that's relative, but I would not take my car to some regular shop as I would worry if they would fuk something up or not change the oil filter or use the wrong ATF fluid etc. I don't have the time, tools or desire to do anything but wash, wax, detail my G. Rant over

It would be nice if someone could post a fair price for spark plug repair at the dealer to help the op out.

**Edit** Just called my dealer in Houston and the charge for labor and parts for sparkplug service is $273. I think in 3-4 yrs I have NO problem paying that when my G needs it. I realize I could save $185 bucks and do the items in the 3 youtube vids below--but I'm ok with that labor. I'ts about $30 bucks a plug for install, but I'm not doing this shiit:

Be aware that most dealers can be sneaky and they will get money out of you when they list a pkg service deal that includes "we check 1000 items and do your ATF and charge you $35,456.87. You can check your own tires, rotate at disc. tire, and vacuum your own car and have them just do the ATF- and you will save a ton. The next oil change, add the coolant. The next--differential fluid. NEVER do the package deal, its not a deal. Had a an airbag light on one time and they said it was NOT covered, and it was like $1800 bucks or something gawd afully high and I said it was covered and they said no. I asked to speak to a mgr., I told them it was covered, he checked and later said sorry you're right. It was covered by warranty. I have a strong suspicion that they were going to charge me $1800 and then turn around and bill Infiniti for $1800 and make $3600. What I'm saying people is know your warranty, know what a fair price for service is and do your thing. If you can do the service reliably yourself, amen and go for it.

yeah the videos that texan1 posted are from a member on this forum: bythabay who created a lot of diy video series. so if you ever wanna do something yourself check there first to see if he has a video for it. his videos helped me out a lot.

DIY maintainence is on the rise.

Look at the stock price of Autozone, Advanced Auto and other auto parts stores. Since last fall, their price has gone up while others fall.

More and more people are driving their cars just another year or two longer.

I changed out mine today and it wasn't as bad as the videos. Took me an hour, and this morning at 7:30 AM it was still in the upper 80's in Austin. Sweated a lot, but since I paid $40 for the plugs I saved $233 over the dealer's cost. It was well worth it to me and I'm not even real mechanically inclined.

I also did my plugs a while ago, around 71K miles. Took me 2.5 hrs because I took my time going through the wire jungle while undoing the bolts and accessing the spark plugs and tubes. 4 out of the 6 plugs were oil-soaked (the #6 plug was the worst one, I had to suck the old oil out with a small piece of paper towel). Plus I do not have the best spark plug socket made for this job as the socket wouldn't loosen itself out from the new spark plug after torquing it down, so that took me a while. Nonetheless I saved myself at least a few hundred from doing this job myself

Oil soaked on the top?? I thin your VC's are leaking then. There is a TSB, but i think you are past your powertrain warranty

Are you sure there is a TSB? Clearly it is a warranty item, but I don’t remember seeing an actual TSB for this.

Sorry. No TSB. Dunno why i said that.

It is a concern though

Check this before your powertrain warranty is up!
