Re: Pop Charger or Cold Intake?

I have the NISMO. It's okay, and looks great. The by-pass is a must if you don't want to worry about hydro-lock.

But, in everyday driving, I actually think it decreased the responsiveness of the car. Seems to open it up at the top end though. I'm debating going back to the stock box and a ztube to see if I can feel the differences, since I did the CAI a while ago.

Re: Pop Charger or Cold Intake?

there has been alot going on about the popcharger and some cai's losing low-end power but usually pulling harder in the high rpms. intakes in general do not make a significant difference in power and are mainly for sound. to sum it up:

popcharger+ztube: cheaper, louder, whistles, easy install, heatshield blocks most of the hot air from the engine

cai (injen): looks great, not as loud but still whistles, takes in colder air, more difficult install, could hydrolock

Re: Pop Charger or Cold Intake?

For the same money as a CAI, you can combine the Z-tube, pop charger and the Box from stillens Cold Air Box set-up.

The pop-charger has superior airfow than the stillen filer, but their box shelids more heat than the one provided with the JWT kit. A few people have combined them and they feel they reduced some of the low-end losses described above.

I would argue that intakes do in fact increase HP in some situations and are not JUST for noise. They do have a larger delta change in noise then they do in HP but there are HP gains with them. From most tests I've read, the pop charger + z-tube > CAI HP gains.

Hello,
Considering this next purchase and I was wondering what your opinions are on which is better. Pro's & Con's. Thanks for any feedback/insight.
