Oil consumption advice / buying new
Normally i would not do this because i have seen this mentioned a lot in this forum. But after searching through about 20+ threads i see people speculating and asking ridiculous questions about oil consumption.
Im looking at a 05 MT6. 70k miles for 12k. I love the car, always wanted one.. but i can not throw away 12 grand on something that will continually get worse? Never had a vehicle burn oil. Buying from a private seller you have no way to check and see if it is burning oil.. obviously they can just top it off before test drive.
So besides adding oil every so many miles, what are the negative effects of burning oil, possible failures? I have found some stories, some burning, some not. Give it to me straight.
I just do not want to purchase it and realize it only burns a quart every 10k miles.. then two years from now its a quart every thousand. Plan on keeping it around a long time and doing a lot of upgrades. Info me.
