Stainless Aftermarket Sedan Muffler
SOLD, PLEASE DELETE
I have a full 304 stainless aftermarket (Auto Art?/no name) 03-04 muffler w/ new flange gasket for sale. It has hangers welded on and a mandrel bent pipe leading in. It is a straight-through design so it has a loud, smooth, low tone. The tips are 3".
I installed it and used it for 2 weeks but due to a very long highway commute, the volume was just too loud for the long haul. I pressed in a silencer tube into each tip which quieted it down, just not enough to keep my wife happy You can remove the silencers with a slide hammer if so desired.
I had to tweak the hangers a bit to get the fitment perfect but it does fit quite nicely now.
After I took it off and cleaned it up
I think that this muffler would probably be perfect with a sedan midpipe but it just didn't work with my coupe midpipe and HR y pipe setup.
I am asking $60 for the muffler + $20 shipping.

Just how loud was this muffler with your setup? I am going to be running an identical setup, 350z mid pipe and either stock or an ebay Y. My G sedan is my daily so while I don't mind it being loud when I get on it I do want a quieter refined ride for my commuting.

Without the silencers, it was quite loud and deep through the whole range and not practical for most driving. With the silencers in, it has a quiet idle when warmed up but it gets progressively louder from 1400 rpm up to 3000, after which it sounds awesome. The problem is that it gets a little too loud for highway driving which is most of that range.
One thing I tried before the silencers was temporarily blocking one of the tips and that was pretty much perfect overall. The problem was that I did not find a good lasting solution myself for blocking a tip and my solution failed quickly.
