I guess you just have to be in the industry to really understand...

For every product, there is a MSRP or "manufacturer suggested retail price", which is the price the product was intended to sell for and a list price which may change between different contracts (stores), even though we're talking the same product. Of course, that's not how much Americans like paying for things so most stores are allowed to list the products for a certain amount less, but most manufacturers will say that although stores can sell for even less than they paid if they don't care for money, but if the prices are too low, they can't list the prices in ads, etc... with a few conditions, exceptions, etc... A breech of this agreement will entitle you a nice fine, or you can just keep your store going without selling that brand's products anymore.

Now with car parts, a bit more goes into it, and honestly, if you guys want quality parts, respect that because prices can get competitive and products can become cheaper and cheaper, like the body kit and wheels market not so long ago.

Alright, so this can be clear amongst everyone. First off, there is only ONE retail price for any product. List price, retail price, MSRP ... all the same thing. However, many manufactures also carry what is called a MAP price (Minimum Advertised Price) this means that we can not (within our agreement to sell their products) post any prices lower then this price. Some companies even set their MAP price at retail (COBB, Skunk2, APS to name a few). Because of this we can not post ANY prices lower then MAP prices, or we would no longer be allowed to sell their product. Some companies are a bit looser on the rules, some are VERY strict and will call you THE DAY the product breaks MAP.

The other reason we make you PM us for price is because we like to do our business in a more personal way. We prefer to have personal interaction with each and every customer we deal with, we really prefer you just call us. Also, if every vendor posted their prices, I could just go around and take my prices $5 below all other vendors, and this would create an all out pricing war between vendors and no one would make money. If we all made no money we would go out of business and then you would have no one to buy parts from at all and no vendors (a bit of an exaggeration).

So. as it is always said. PM us for BEST pricing. I can post up MAP prices but I promise none of you guys want to pay MAP, and we don't want to charge you MAP either.
