I decided to post this thread seperate from the hip hop thread so this album can get the full recognition it deserves. For all those people who felt they had to know what the fuss was all about when the rapper Nas originally named his project the "en" word need to listen up and find out the message behind the shocking announcement of this album title.
Guys it gets much deeper than that. You have to open your mind. You may not even be a hip hop fan at all but like music with a message. If this is you feel free to read further. If not then hit the back button. My advice is to check out the amazon page for some samples and to see what the fuss is all about. http://www.amazon.com/review/product...DateDescending Nas is fighting against the elitist machine controlling America... awakening the youth to revolution, and doing what he can to erase all racism and injustice head on. The message comes across so perfect in his music on this disc. The poetry is amazing and I'm glad I had the chance to hear and review it for myself. Feel free to do the same ![]()

album is straight fire. his last album hip hop is dead was not up to par with typical nas album's. he had a mixtape out before the album was released that allowed him to call it what the record label wouldn't allow. it was called "the n****r mixtape" for those that are interested. its a good album possibly better then the official album.

Illmatic is referred to as his greatest album, but It Was Written is definitely my favorite Nas album.

I have those two CDs and "Hip Hop is Dead." "It was Written" will always get more play over the other two. What ever happend to AZ? "Lifes a B!tch" is my favorite track on "Illimatic..."One Love" is dope too. |

Perhaps I should listen to the CD first, but I'm still bent on asking with regards to your quote: "[he is] doing what he can to erase all racism and injustice head on." He most certainly talks about reformation from the inside out, right?
