Large FLat HDTV

I am looking forward to buy a new one. The price vary a lot in these days. There is a 58" Panasonic in Costco for $2000 (YES, LCD, not Projector), but a 52" Sony for $4500 and a 58" Poineer for $6000 in BESTBUY.

I am a newbie to these expensive toys. Anyone have good advice for this? I play PS3 from time to time, but not daily. I want to buy the Panasonic one from Costco, because it's cheaper and HUGE. but i don't really want to spend so much for something that even Walmart has

These days, you shouldn't have to pay more than $3000 for a large quality LCD/Plasma.

I have a link somewhere that breaks everything down for you. I'll see if I can find it...

(Too lazy to write down my knowledge )

I work at a place that sells a ton of electronics. All the top name brands that are 50-58" are usually within 2,000-3,000 dollars for a quality Plasma.

Plasma is nice and I personally think it gives better picture looks more high end , but my TV will face the window, there will be alot of reflection like what i am having right now. I can only play game at night comfortably.

How to judge a good TV from the bad one? example?

I love Samsung tvs.. if i were to get one for the living room where space is not much of an issue, I would get a large DLP.. the colors are more rich and vibrant plus it is less expensive than comparable lcd.. bedrooms and whatnot I will do plasma or lcd.. the current DLPs aren't really heavy either.. a 61" LED DLP is about $2k

not a big fan of DLP, because i do not plan to replace another within 8+ yrs.

Samsung makes very good LCD? what about Sony? According to what i observe from best buy, Poineer cost the most. I personally like Sony TV, because they have good reputation + the glass edge design. Too bad the arey kinda expensive

I have the Samsung 61" LED. It's nice.

I really don't know how it compares to other tvs, but I love it.

I got samsung 46in 1080p LCD for $1400 no tax free shipping from Amazon 3-4 months ago. Check them out as they have lots of selection and good price. Samsung TVs are really solid and the price is very decent. Good luck.
