Nostalgic Youtube finds...

On my travels around youtube when bored you come across classics, and little gems from when you were a wee whipper snapper... I just stumbled upon 'The Snowman' by Raymond Briggs. Now that was proper nostalia. reminded me of Christmas when I first saw it on TV, and was absolutely gobsmacked by the animation. Stunning stuff..

From there I tried to remember the other Raymond Briggs animation, (I refuse to call them cartoons), 'When the Wind Blows'. Again, a fantastic bit of mini-cinema, made even better by the voices of Sir John Mills, and Peggy Ashcroft. Apparently they did the voice-overs in one take.

Along with 'Watership Down' and 'Plague Dogs' these truly are astounding bits of film.

Any more for any more?

Great taste there Cashio! Dark Crystal, and Labyrinth were utter classics... Remember Krull, and Battle Beyond the stars, (space version of The Seven Samurai/The Magnificent Seven)?

Oh, and the iron Eagle clip reminded me of one of the best sci-fi films on the planet! Enely Mine, which is a bit like Robinson Crusoe in space!
