Traitor
I am thinking about going to see this movie when it comes out. Has anyone heard anything good or bad about it? It looks pretty good from the trailer at least. This will be my first theatre movie since the Bourne Ultimatum.

i want to check it out too, but i don't know how I feel about don cheadle as the central character in an action movie. he can carry a drama all day long, but he just doesn't seem like a bad-*** action / assassin / special forces guy

in fairness, i felt the same way about matt damon before the bourne identity so you never know...

I saw Traitor on Sunday afternoon and was very impressed. It didn't go the Bourne Identity route with lots of fight scenes - it was more of a focus on what Don Cheadle's character had to do to get on the inside. Its a very warmed-over story - agent has to infiltrate bad guy organization to prevent something bad while eluding good guys who don't know he's on their side - but they avoid a lot of pitfalls. They also don't overly demonize Cheadle's direct contact in the terrorist group - he's an evil SOB for sure, but they humanize him enough that you can see why Cheadle's character has some affinity for him. Don Cheadle was excellent as well - its rare to find a big budget actor who can pull off so many different types of roles.
Overall, it's a compact and very well put together thriller. It probably won't get the attention / praise it deserves because of the topic & lack of lots of ***-kickery, but its well worth the price of admission.

My wife and I watched Traitor tonight and we really enjoyed it. I definitely would of liked to see some more action, but a great flick nonetheless.
Btw, it was $12 for two medium popcorns.......damn talk about gouging!!

I'm glad I read some reviews telling me this movie wasn't an action flick, because the commercials definitely portray it as so. Going into it knowing its a slower flick, I definitely enjoyed it. Much more of a political movie, but a good one. And Don Cheadle is excellent as always...
