Doesnt matter though. everyone is entitled to their opinion.
It's not necessarily what he is doing. It does have something to do with it. He just makes his lyrics catchy, and a lot of the times its the beat as well that makes a song. How often do people really take the time to understand what a rapper is actually saying?

As mentioned before, it's people that buy his albums that make him rich and popular. But just because a bunch of people buy his stuff doesn't mean it is actually good. There are so many underground or even unknown lyricists and rappers that are much better, but people will say Lil Wayne is better only because they have heard of him. It's just mainstream BS.

I used to like Lil Wayne's music, but it went downhill. I forgot which album it was, 400 degreez or 500 degreez, something like that, It has the song Bloodline on it. That album was one of his last albums that was actually good. It actually made sense and his lyrics were good. Ever seen Lil Wayne or any of the cash money millionaires trying to freestyle? That's a major fial.

Alot of rap these days is garbage. In my opinion, the glory days of rap have come and gone. I remember the 90's listening to Wu-Tang, Nas, Jay-z, Dre and snoop, 2pac, Biggie, Gangstarr, Mobb Deep, DMX, the list goes on and on. Now I listen to Young Jeezy but more often than not I find myself grabbing my old rap albums to listen to. I think back then it was about the music, now it's about how much jewelry you have and what kind of car you drive, how much money you're making. The talent is so diluted and they rhyme about the stupidest sh*t. Soulja Boy, need I say more.

Figured I'd shoehorn this one in, we played this at our wedding, the clean version of course:

^^^

I couldn't agree more. I like Jeezy because he's funny and his lyrics aren't actually all that bad. The Game has some good lyrics as well. 50 Cent has gone downhill and Eminem, well, that new song he's in, he sounds so annoying like someone is strangling a bird.

I've personally delved into other music genres as I like to switch it up a bit.

Speaking of soulja boy....

it was legendary when Run DMC and Aerosmith collab, but Linkin Park and Jay Z outdid them.

Eh, I don't think so. It sounded decent decent with them Run DMC had that style already going sorta of whereas JayZ was more strictly rapping.
