Whats so great about this car?

I personally like the looks of the EX, it's the hatch back version of the G. My wife and I were in the market for a new SUV for her. We seriously looked at the EX, but it was just too small and not very practical, we have kids. But this car would be great for couple without kids.
I ended up buying a Hyundai Veracruz for my wife, so far she is very pleased with it. So go ahead and make fun of me for buying a Hyundai, but it was the most car for the money and had a great warranty.

We looked at the EX this weekend for my wife. We both think it's the perfect compromise between a sedan and a wagon. Coming from a 2 door VW GTI, this car will be a very nice upgrade for her. It will have room for a future baby seat and the storage in the back is enough to carry our dog crate. As an added bonus, the power and handling on this thing beats any other car in its class. We test drove several different cross overs/suvs such as the touareg 2, murano, cx-7, mdx and mkx and the EX came out on top for us.

I haven't test driven the EX but from what articles I've read, the reviews all seem to be pretty good and all of them commend the driving experience around the twisties.
That said, I think the size of this is pretty much a joke. It has a shorter wheelbase then the G sedan and the whole size and proportion of it just looks plain weird when parked right next to a G (prolly cuz it looks so much bigger than it really is until you see it in person).
This probably has the nicest (and most expensive) interior option ever offered by Infiniti but there are several cheap touches:
1) The door handles - these are so light when I opened the driver door they felt like they could be ripped off. The M and even the G coupe/sedan have solid-feeling handles with good "pull" resistance when you open the door. The EX has none of that. It's super light and, though it looks nice, it feels really flimsy.
2) No power liftgate - C'mon, you're going to have power folding rear seats but a manual liftgate? I know, this is a woman's car, but you'd think that women would appreciate this after a few hours' shopping. Even the Nissan Quest and Murano have it. Amazing omission for a luxury vehicle.
3) El-cheapo rear lower door panels (below the arm rest). If you look at the bottom, they're thin and kind of resemble the plastic used on the '02-'06 Altima door panels. I know, I'm nitpicking but if you're going to spend almost $50K for an SUV, you wouldn't expect it. Esp. since the rest of the interior is pretty rich and nicely detailed.
4) No ventilated front seats - ok, I can see omitting this in the G sedan and coupe and get away with it since the Lexus IS is pretty much the only car that even offers it in this category, but no cooling seats in a luxe SUV? Get rid of the stupid power folding rear seat - useless!
5) No power-folding and auto-dimming outside mirrors - sounds minor but if you've ever driven a car (BMW 335i, Lexus IS350, and Mercedes C350 offers one or both), esp. at night or in tight parking situations, you'll come to appreciate this. This is something I never understood Infiniti to omit. The Nissan Maxima from the '04 MY has always had this, at least as an option.
I think they've only offered the auto dimming outside mirror for the driver side only on the M sedan. It's so irritating to be stopped at a red light and then for this F350 Superduty to pull up right behind you with his "low beams" blinding the daylights out of you. And turning the mirrors down to avoid the glare is just plain lame. I could be mistaken, but I think these features are standard/optional on the same Infiniti models for China and the Middle East. Maybe Nissan North America thinks we're too stupid to notice.

It's nice to enter this market, but I was reading an article on the EX. It's interior volume is actually less than the g35. Knock offs on this car seem to be the lack of interior space.
