Any help would be appreciated. Tried to search and didnt find any common issues. Here are the facts:

-Howling sound coming from the front of car when driving 35mph+. This usually starts when i hit 2.5rpm or so, but it is more speed-dependent than RPM dependent. Still occurs when i take foot off accelerator and cruise. Does NOT occur when reving engine in park/neutral.
-Sound is much easier heard when windows are up. Sound has a note to it and is pulsating (not high pitched, not "wind" sounding.
-Just noticed it after i installed a coupe midpipe (i just had the smaller resonator welded in because all my gaskets were rusted) but like i said, seems to be coming from the front so might be irrelevant?
-Have everything installed that you see in my signature, also did 60K service a few thousand miles ago so hopefully trans fluids are ok.
-i do need to replace my belts but they shouldnt be that bad
-i probably have to replace my tires next season, but again, shouldnt be that bad
-I did a light spot check on my car and made sure there isnt anyting caught somewhere in the wheels or in the front that can make that noise.

So anything else i should check out? I have read that wheel bearings are a common problem (not on g35, but in general.)

Thanks.

Hey, I tried to search but I just wanted all of the info in one place if at all possible...

What are the best fluids to use for each of the following...but also, if not needed, the cheaper one would work too....Also, I am just going to order all of them online and try to do what I can by myself and for the rest, just take it to the local mechanic but I will just give him the fluids so about how much of each will I need. Thank you

Transmission:

Power Steering:

Rear Differential:

Brake:

Anything else I left out?

Also, I bought this car with 47,000 miles on it and now have 50k? Assuming that the service was not done accordingly, is there anything else you recommend doing around this mileage? Thanks for all the help.

I recently had my Rack & Pinion replaced because it was leaking power steering fluid everywhere and it smelled REALLY bad.

I replaced it just two days ago, and the mechanic told me he suspects it is still leaking old oil. It's been two days since the repair, and it seems to still be leaking and smelling awful. I put a cardboard under the box to catch the spill and it is still leaking (At the same speed as before) This was not a cheap fix either so I'm wondering why it wasn't fixed when the part was replaced..

Anyone had experiences w/ this and if it is supposed to leak a bit after the repair?

Going to take it back to him tomorrow but want some opinions to go to him with.

Thanks!

Woke up at 3am on Saturday and headed out at 4am to Streets of Willow in California (thats a track for anyone who doesn't know). Its about 3hrs away from Vegas. Everything was fine, and we got there and started to setup. I had ran 3 good sessions, though the 3rd was short due to someone going off track. Started the 4th good, and coming into a right corner I hear a popping sound and bam I have NO steering. The wheels go straight and I hit the brake and go straight off track.

The steering wheel was spinning freely, air bag light was flashing and so was SLIP. I was thinking to myself WHAT THE FVCK? I had an idea what was wrong since I recently installed some new return lines and my friend had to disconnect the universal joint from the steering shaft to get in to the turbos. I was thinking that broke, or it came out of the joint.

The car had to sit off the track until 5PM until they could get an actual tow truck out there to tow it. Once we got it off I found the following..

I tried fixing it but the steering shaft had gone up into the car and would not come out. I believe it seized due to the turbo heat :icon43:

Anyway, GeoBau drove all the way out to Cali to pick me and my friend up and I got back to Vegas at 330am. At 4am I had to go back out with a bunch of friends who were doing a track day on Sunday. I was so fvckin tired its not even funny. I left the car in Cali with hopes it could be drivable back to Vegas. Basically got 4 hours of sleep all weekend. After some time, terrasmak is his name on here, fixed it so I could at least drive it home but the steering wheel wasn't centered. Had to drive 4ish hours with it like this...

Got it to Nissan yesterday and I need a new steering shaft, the cable inside the steering wheel, and a new u-joint. Gonna make sure we heat shield the shaft this time so to hopefully prevent it from seizing again.

Fvcking car problems :mad::mad:
