I am debating between a single 10" jl w3v3 or to install 2 of them in a coupe. For those who have similiar setup, is a single 10" enough bass? Or should I go with dual setup? With either setup, I will have it wired up to a jl 500/1 amp. Also, if I go with single setup, is the zenclosure box with offset for amp front mount better choice or should I go with the box with speaker in the center? Wasn't sure if the one with front amp mount would work that well since the wires would have to be run in awkward spot underneath the box. Any suggestions is appreciated.

Hi everyone. New member here, but owned my coupe since it was new in 2004. I found great info here to address my power window issue, and am now looking into addressing my developed needs for a better audio system.

I first just want a better understanding of the basics of how the current Bose system works. I am a complete novice at car audio. So I only want the simplest explainations. I would appreciate input on the following curiosities of mine:

1. I know there is a amplifier in the rear of the car, by the spare tire, and it powers the subwoofers in the rear dash. Does that same amp also power the other speakers in the car? Or is there another amp in the front to do this? Or how are the other speakers connected?

2. Will an aftermarket HU be a plug & play to the stock amp(s) and speakers? (I know this won't address sound issues, again, just curious as to how the different components of the Bose system work with each other.)

3. Will it affect the rest of the system in any way if I remove the rear Bose amp (a source of the sound issues I am aware) and replace it with a basic aftermarket amp that powers a small sub? (other than the obvious outcome of losing the stock rear subs)

4. Since the Bose amp is described as sub-par, will it be beneficial to replace it with aftermarket without replacing any speakers? I don't want to have to add any components in the trunk area (other than possibly an amp in the stock location)

Here are the specs on the G35 Coupe box:
2003-2006 Infiniti G35 coupe subwoofer enclosure
This is the first enclosure that we mass produced. We have sold over 500 of these making it the most popular enclosure we offer. Each box was made from mould taken from my G35 coupe, every enclosure fits perfect every time. You will not find a flat surface on these enclosures every curve and crease adds strength. We even notched the enclosure mould for the cargo net hooks so you will not loose any features of your G35 coupe with the addition of our enclosure.

One 10” subwoofer in this box and a 200-500 watt amplifier will give you substantial increase in bass response, enough to shake your mirrors! You can expect accurate and deep bass extension well beyond the factory system. We offer an enclosure for both the driver side and passenger side. Buy both boxes and add two 10” subwoofers for incredible low frequency. Each box is optimized to work with most 10” subs that require .7-.9 cubic feet in a sealed configuration.

Features:

•Acoustic suspension design (sealed enclosure)
•.8 cubic feet of internal air space
•9.25” mounting diameter
•7.5' mounting depth on driver side box, 7” on passenger side
•Fits most 10' subs
•1/4' fiberglass construction w/ 3/4' MDF wood mounting ring
•Color matching carpet
•Removable factory style speaker
•You can still use your trunk mat and cargo net
• Gold plated speaker binding posts
•Aluminum mounting tab (see image 4)
•No need to drill or screw into your car for installation
•Takes only 10 seconds to remove from trunk
•13 lbs. (net weight)
•One year warranty
