If I take off slowly, like in a children playground area, I can hear a gargling sound coming from transmission when it shifts from 1st into 2nd in automatic mode. Is this normal? Maybe the fluid level is too low? Any hints will be appreciated!

Specifically, when it is in gear I can move my shift-knob from left to right about 2 inches...again, while I am in gear. I totally expected it to be very tight with no play at all. I searched the forum, but didnt find anything to explain this. Anyone, have any idea if it is suppossed to be that much play or is there something else to this issue? THANKS!

So i posted this in transmission slip, but maybe if i start a new thread it'll get some more replies.

Issue:

Around approximately 15 mph, RPM 1100, while i'm cruising, if i give it a tiny bit of throttle the engine will rev up to 1500 before i feel the transmission kick in and car starts moving. This is noticeable primarily in stop and go traffic, and usually when i'm cruising downhill in traffic where it feels like the engine has to rev-up to a certain rpm cause my car is going downhill (don''t know if that makes sense.)

This doesn't feel like transmission slip and one user replied that the torque converter is not locking up.

Is this normal?? I have an 03 g35 5AT with 110k miles.

Also related to this, i just got a drain and fill and the mechanic told me that the AT fluid was overfilled by about 1/2 a quart, and i've been driving with that for 20k miles.

Any advice/help is greatly appreciated!

So far for parts :
Manual transmission CD009
Drive Shaft
Clutch pedal, Clutch disk, Flywheel
Clutch Mastery cylinder
Shifter
Differential? does this have anything that needs changed?
Also I know I need the interior console etc, but can I keep my current dash ?

From what I have read I am going to have to use a plasma cutter in order to fit this proper? Can anyone inform me on what needs to be cut? thanks.
I just want to see what I am up against. any help is appreciated!

Fairly new to the forum... whats up all!! Looking forward to some insight...

Here is my issue...

I have a 2005 6MT coupe... had clutch pedal issues early summer... clutch pedal not returning... dealer said clutch problem and best to do throw out bearing under warranty and they will examine the clutch. Of course as you can imagine they said the clutch had alot of wear and suggested replacement. When they told me how much i almost dropped... now never did or does my clutch slip so i told them to clean it up and put it back together. Well i came home and looked at the forum and then went back to them and asked to repl slave cylinder to solve pedal issue... that worked and pedal still feels fine. However, it seems that since they cleaned out the clutch it is harder to put the shifter into gear. It seems like the clutch is engading ok but just hard to push into gear. i dont grind it or nothing but sometime it takes a little push to get it into gear

1 - Is this issue caused by bad clutch/flywheel?

2 - Am i doing any other damage other than to the clutch/flywheel by driving it like this?

3 - Recommendations for a moderate clutch/flywheel kit for moderate driver

I dont drive it often and not hard... not too hard anyway!

Thanks in advance!!

I was thinking doing the "Ranger" protocol with my clutch fluid, so instead of draining the whole system, just siphoning out the reservoir, filling it, drive for a week, and repeat. I should have the standard DOT3 in there now, but I have DOT3/4 I was going to put in. I assume since it's compatible with all DOT3 systems it shouldn't be a problem, is that right?

'05 G35x, 29K miles: Yesterday I went out on the road, Between 40-50 MPH it sounded like I was riding on a freshly ground down road (like where they cut grooves when getting ready to repave). But the road was smooth. Couldn't feel the problem in the car or steering wheel. This has happened a couple of times and seems to go away on its own while driving. And sometimes it isn't noisy at all from the getgo.
Info - don't know if this is a factor or not but: Two months ago I had the car in for a "metallic clinking noise when shifting into D or going from R to D" etc. Sounded to me like a sloppy U-joint. The Service Manager said Infiniti had used the wrong lube (somewhere) and they needed to remove 5 (4?) bolts, fill with the proper grease and replace the bolts. I got the impression he was talking about the rear axle. They did whatever and the clinking stopped. I'm wondering if anything they did might be related to this current problem and I'd like to be armed with some info before talking with the service guys again.
Thanks in advance.

basically Im not entirely sure and I have read alot of forums about breaking a clutch and flywheel in but everyone seems to have their own opinion, also is it true lightweight flywheels wear out faster?

here is a pik of my old clutch...heh the shop was surprised i could drive my car there.

- the purple color is from the metal on metal heat literally burning the clutch and thus discoloring the metal that was originally...grey hah. how could something that looks so cool be so horrible?

and before i get any comments about learning to drive stick, i only had the car for about 3,000 miles and I bought it from some guy.
