The first time I saw this G35 was when Randy debut it at the 2008 San Mateo Hot Import Nights. It was one of my favorite cars there. Randy has continue to keep improving the car every chance he gets. which is not as easy as it sounds as this cars pulls double duty. first it's his wife Hoai daily driver and on the weekends it's Randy's showcar . Every inch of this car is so clean you would think it was a trailer baby . But this is not the case with this car as he drives it to every show it's entered in on the west coast .

And just to remind those checking out this ride going down the road the license plates read RRYDE ( our ride ) to let everyone know it's a partnership thats made this custom wide body G35 possible. This is one of the most modified daily drivers on the streets of Southern California . Randy is also a proud member of TWC one of top teams on the show scene . Randy enlisted some of the top shops in So.Cal to work on his car starting with Autoexplosion handling body and paint duty's and Chuy 's Interior took on the interior work . As you will see in the photo's this is one nice G35 and as with most cars at this level pictures just don't do it justice .

So Randy took a moment to answer a few question .

1. What was the first car you customize ?

A 1984 Nissan 720 pickup .

2. What's your dream car to customize ?

A Street rod

3. What's your favorite show to attend ?

Hot Import Nights

4. If money was no object what would you do to your car that's not done already ?

A Built Motor and upgrade the interior

5. Have you ever seen a car that was just cool ( something you would not expect ) ?

Yes I seen a few .

6. Do you have any other projects in the works ?

No

Here a few Fact 's about Randy's G35.

Est . Horsepower : 400 whp

Engine modifications : Fully polished Vortech supercharger, DC sports headers, Greedy EVO III exhaust with HKS tips, Koyo 32 mm radiator, GTM motorsports cooling fans, Earls steel braided hoses and clamps, custom full wire tuck .

Suspension : Wildwood BBK 6 piston ( custom powder coated ) caliber 14 " rotors in front , 4 piston( custom power coated ) caliber 13' rotors in the rear , Tein type flex coilovers ( custom powder coated and polished ) . Cusco sway bars and a-arms ( custom powder coated ) , SPL sway bar end links front and rear , GT spec upper and lower rear tie rods (polished ) , Fully polished rear sub frame and front components .

here is an article Greg did of me and my car..

This smooth looking G35 belongs to Dallas Tung out of Columbus , Ohio . He bought it brand new in 2006 and has been modifying it ever since . Originally from Cerritos , California Dallas is not new to the tuner scene . This G35 wasn't his first car that he customize but this was the first one he was building with plans of taking it to car shows and had a game plan on how it would be competed .

Starting with the APR wide body kit and MG carbon fiber trunk all covered in candy apple red paint job Dallas started putting the pieces together . And the motor was at the top of the list . He took his car to the guys at Slow Motion Motorsports to get the motor work done starting with installing a Greddy turbo , Cosworth intake manifold , Deatschwerks 800cc injectors , HKS SSQ bov . And UPREV engine management system with a Apexi AVC-R boost controller . Next a CIM fuel pump and fuel return system was installed . A ACT streetlite flywheel and clutch kit was added along with an HKS exhaust system .

Next the suspension had to be upgraded . An AP racing 13 inch big brake kit was added . Eibach sway bars front and rear and TEIN type mono flex coil-overs . An ARC strut bar and GT Spec under body front and rear tie bars . For shoes a set of HRE 545 R wheels and Pirelli P Zero tires round out the package .

The interior was done with a custom two-tone leather theme . An Kenwood 7100 DVD / Nav head unit with two JL audio 500 watt amps and two10 inch JL W3 subs headline the audio system . Defi gauges on the pillar highlight the interior .

Here's a Q and A I had with Dallas .

OK what was the first car you customize ?

It was a 1989 Mazda RX-7

What's your dream car to customize ?

There are so many I have no clue where to start . Mainly European exotics .

What's your favorite show to attend ?

Back when I was still in Cali I loved Import show - off but since I"m out here in Ohio now mainly HIN events .

If money was no object what would you do to your car that 's not done already ?

I would redo the my whole interior and do a stroker kit set-up .

A few car questions

Horsepower ?

600 whp

Fastest reading you've had on the speedo ?

150+ I know it was cutting it close to 155 .

Favorite mod on the car ?

My favorite mod would have to be the appearance of the vehicle . We smooth out the side skirts a bit brought in the front bumper sides a bit so it doesn't look so wide and boxy from the front view . Then added the fender vents , quite happy with the outcome of it .

Dallas would like to thank Slow Motion Motorsports for putting the engine together and fun times around the Midwest car scene .

O hai there!

I know it's been a while fellas...I've been totally MIA. Med school is in full murder status right now and there isn't really an end in sight until late next year. But I'll try to make it to some more meets/random get togethers from now since I'm back in town.

I just got off the phone with Jeremy, we had a little chat about all the meets and shenanigans I've missed over the past few months. Glad to see the FI bug is being passed around like H1N1. Looks like the club is just as active as it was when I dropped off the face of the Earth, if not more so.

Anyways figured I'd make a grand re-entrance for no good reason. Hope to see all of you that I know soon, and meet the rest of the new guys too.

/end unnecessary back from the dead thread

Good evening my friends,

Here are somethings that I wanted to share with you and also start getting Ideas together for some future get togethers.

Talking with Corey at SLow Motion Motorsports, he mentioned that he has several Licenses for the UpRev software to tune G35s, 350Z, G37s, and 370Zs! Like last year when we had our Dyno Meet I realized I would like to make it an Annual thing so people can see what their mods are doing. Well, Corey is offering to host us this year! I garuntee it will be more fun than last year, plus Tuning of the rides (a sweet deal none of us can resist) will be offered as well. That is a step up from last year. Of course, we can set up a photo shoot and drive possibly as well.

For future meets, I wasnt thinking of setting up anything for December because of the busy time of year. If anyone is interested, by all means, please post something. I dont mind riding or driving up to a place to eat and talk cars...

January- I was thinking it would be a good time to have a meet to catch up, hang out and maybe watch some football around some grub and beverages. I hosted last year, I dont mind once again. That is, unless someone with a bigger place offers. Besides, according to everyone, I live "out there" :icon30:

February- there is always a nice weekend where the temperatures rise and it gives us a sample of spring...Good day to get the cars out and meet around some grub at a local joint.

March- Depending on the weather, I would like to schedule a meet and drive to get thing rolling for the spring car shows. I would like to schedule a dyno meet around this time.

Future meets? Ideas? please post them here...

Take care and becareful of the weather changes and our cars! See you behind me- hahahhaaha pssssssssssssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhh....:JAMIN:

I want to sell the car to pick up this hell of a deal on a collector I found that I've wanted forever but am afraid I won't be able to sell in time to pick it up. I have a phobia of driving a stock car for some reason :icon17:. Combine all this with the fact that I'm lazy and dont wanna deal with shipping some of the bigger things I figured I would throw the interest to the OGC first.

The 2 major things to move would be the exhaust: Berk test pipes and borla cat back (would need to trade for stock cats and exhaust though) and the 19" Iforged wheels (I'd need stock wheels though as I sold mine with winter rubber on it)

I jumped a curb in Worthington about a month ago and knew immediately that it scratched my right rear wheel. Until today I thought that was all that got scratched. The rocker panel beneath the rear passenger door is scratched to sh!t. Any recommendations for a quality shop in Columbus that you guys have used before? I took it to Auto Body North off of 23 tonight because its close to my house and the only one I could get to after 5 that was still open. They quoted me $340 for the repair. I'm gonna shop it around as it'd be a joke to run it through my insurance.
Beware of curbs from hell in that town :7:

Adrian has a 4 day weekend this weekend b.c we had planned to go to Gatlinburg for a mini-vacation. Things have changed a bit since we were rear ended by a drunk driver on Friday and we don't really think sitting in a car for 4-5 hours is the best idea right now. So we are thinking about heading up to Columbus tmw to go to the Zoo and possibly staying overnight somewhere.

I was wondering if you guys would want to get together for a mini-meet/lunch/dinner thing either Friday or Saturday? I know it is kind of last min but I figured I would ask since we will be in town.
