Unhappy Nav System Retrofit

Anyone out there ever considered or tried/succeeded to install factory Nav system into a Coupe with premium option, but no nav? Are they available? Can it be done?

It can be done, but it is very hard, and very very very expensive. In the 1 1/2 years I've been reading forums on this car, only one person has managed to do it. You have to replace a main wiring harness in the car for it to work.

There is lots of information on this in the Audio, Video, Sat, & Nav forum.

Thanks Dave, that is what I needed to know. Was hoping it was all mechanical plus plug in to existing harness connectors. Guess it was too much to hope for that the standard harness would have all that extra wiring. It has become a non-problem....found a coupe w/nav system and bought it. Will introduce myself in the proper forum when I take possession of the car next Friday.

I saw it done once (with photos) on another board quite a while back. It was at least a 10 hour job for them to do it, and they knew what they were doing.
