Search function sucks azz...

Is there some way to incorporate Google Search into the forum?

I was looking for a thread of mine; "Need a High MPG Beater", so I put that into the search box EXACTLY AS IT WAS POSTED and it came up as the EIGHTEENTH listing!

So I did a COPY/PASTE of the title to the search box. Still came up 18th....

How does that work again?

Normal search sucks. And since the stickies in each section also suck, this is a double whammy.

In the advanced search page - down the bottom there is an option for "boolean search type" make sure you select that option.

Then in the search field put the term you are searching for and an asterisk at the end.

eg,

HKS*
GTR*
NOS*

If you want to search for multiple items at once use an "AND" in the middle

eg,

sex* AND gtr*
g35* AND japan

The boolean option is the key and this works good for all short search terms.
Edit: too late

switching over from natural language to boolean and searching for hks* gets me one thread. what am i doing wrong? theres got to be more than one thread with the word hks in its title

Edit: it looks like hks* only picks it up if theres more characters directly after hks.

Example: Replica HKS's on Ebay? lol

any way around this?
