Vendor's Posting Prices?

I was just curious. I know it's required for us to have the price listed among other things when making a forsale thread.
But why aren't venders also required to do so.
100's of people have the prices PM'ed to them anyways so i don't understand what the deal is with not posting prices?

Vendors do not post prices because they are suppose to sell at retail MSRP or slightly less. If they violate this agreement with the manufacturers by publicly posting prices below MSRP, then they can get their authorized dealer status revoked. They can PM you a lower price, because it isn't public, and can sell for a significantly lower price than retail.

Google "MAP pricing"

My prices are posted because I make what I sell..

If you're a vendor for a bigger manufacture.. lets sayy.. HKS, Stillen, or Greddy.. they have "retail" prices they have to fallow.. how it works in a local shop would be something like

$180 for S-TECHs.. or $220 installed.. they'll report it as they sold it for $180 and only charge u $40 for labor.. if you kinda get it.. but tell you they're discounting the s-techs to $130 and charging you $90 for install..

Manufactures want to keep their products up there in pricing.. or else it wouldnt make sense of the HKS exhaust were selling privately for $600 but retailing for $1,600..

Trust me its more work for us if you PM us.. especailly with the stupid 1min per PM anti-spam thing..
