Any Traders here? (Forex, Options, Stocks, Futures, Etc)

Hi guys,

I just wanted to know if any of you guys or girls are traders.

I"m a VP at a mortgage company and been trading on and off for a few years.

I did a little Forex and Stocks.

was wondering if any body traded options?

also was wondering if anybody wanted to start investing as a club/group.

we all would have our sperate accounts but would get together once a week to discuss trading ideas and stratdegies.

I would be down for starting a small investment group. That would be pretty cool, but i have been shorting a lot with current market conditions. Shorting isn't something anyone should do as an amature investor...unless they have some kind of insider. If anyone wants any advice...wait until the end of the 2nd possibly the 3rd quarter and start buying the financials up like wild fire...right now it is hard to find anything that is going to be hot.

yea. i've been shorting MER a lot.

Financials are all pretty much short stocks now.

A group would be nice with a few traders of each kind to help each other with news, markets and trading strategies.

Wachovia missed earnings today by a mile, but i don't get where on earth the street was expecting them to make money...? I think the street wanted to see gains of .42 cents or something...where the hell did they even think that they were going to report positive earnings? I understand that this is their first quarter that they have lost, but give me a break...no one can perform in these conditions.

i'm in the mortgage industry. its really bad now. any company who had their hands in subprime (which is pretty much every institution) is going to have write downs and going to have a big hit to their portfolio.

I use to trade FX..but it wsa too tiering to wake up in the middle of the night and trade the news.

I want to trade options but i am not comfortable with it yet. but i know its my best bet to make a good profit.

I currently trade stocks. I use some simple tech analysis to determine my entery and exit points.

lets get a list going and we can get this started. The more people the better.

If you're going to trade options, sell them. DOn't buy em. 70% of all option contracts purchased expire worthless...

Now, if I could just take my own advice!!!

haha. its always like that. easier to give advice than to follow it.

the wierd thing is that on my play portfolio i did a call and made 11,500 off it.

my put hasn't really done much. i have yet to fully understand options so i don't try to trade my real money in it.

we should start a e mail list for this group.

I bought up all the stock I could today. Hoping for a turn around shortly. I'm betting we've hit the bottom already and are gonna ride back up. We'll see what becomes.

No, long term commitments are best. My 19 years of marriage have been 1000% better than being single waking up with someone new all the time. I don't miss all those one night stands.

Same thing with stocks. Long term holds are fabulous. Go to sleep knowing you're making money. Enormous unrealized capital gains, strong dividends with DRIP inside my RRSP (401K US equivalent). Gotta love it.

I'd join your club guys but I'm mainly interested in Canadian stock. I don't like paying the 15% on US holdings.

Good job Sean. Active trading by an informed person can be rewarding. My days of active trading are fewer now.

Our Canadian market is recovering and closing in on previous highs. I'm actually surprised by the strength in the past 3-4 weeks.

I managed to make a "few" dollars today without trading.
