Less than one home invasion per 40,000 people per year here in my suburb or TO.

I'm more afraid of crossing the street. Should I carry a gun that kills cars?

I'm not paranoid and I don't live in fear. In fact, it's the total opposite because I know I've taken precautions to protect my family. I choose to not be a victim, should the worst happen. And come to think about it, I sleep very well too. I'd rather have a gun and not need it, than need it and not have it. I have insurance on everything, it's all replaceable...but your family is not. Anyone who thinks they live in a perfect world where nothing can happen to them is very naive...

I've always lived in nice areas but when the riots and then earthquake of 94 hit SoCal my guns did come in handy.

What is your purpose for posting in the FIREARMS forum, other than giving those of us that choose to own firearms a hard time? If you don't believe that we have the right to own firearms might I suggest your make your point in the political forum?

It's not about being paranoid, it's about being prepared. Have you been immunized? Why so paranoid about disease? Do you have car insurance? Why so paranoid about traffic accidents? Nice neighborhoods experience crime to, noone is immune. It is my responsibility to protect my family and property, and I will take the steps necessary to do so. If you disagree with it than so be it. Lucky for my family and I that I don't answer to you and your opinions about my firearms. God forbid the day comes that I will need to defend my family or property with a firearm, but if it does I will be ready.

FTR, I also have canned goods and water in good supply. If some type of natural or man-made disaster were to occur (think Katrina) I would be on a piece of property up north happy that I was prepared while everyone else is looting grocery stores and living in a state of martial law. Again, not paranoid, just prepared.

To answer the OP's question, I also have a Winchester 1300 defender.
