Lightbulb Gauge pods? Any interest?

Just want to see if there is interest locally? Something like these, maybe I can start making some in my free time I'm already in the process of making of my own so...

EDIT: Test fit

Wish I had more time to work on these, and now that I've seen how the 05's come apart, I think it would be even easier and cheaper to do this with the 05's

What would the material be made of? I like both ideas and might consider getting an oil temp and oil pressure gauge in the future.

What do you plan on doing with the hazard light button?

Everything is really up in the air, as I've been playing with my dash for about a year and version after new version of what I came up with I don't really like, so I the dash that Alan gave me is what I'm working on right now.

I have a few ideas, one would be for people without nav, with two or 3 gauges molded in where the pocket is supposed to be. Or a variation of that would be 2 gauges molded into the pocket itself and it would just replace the cubby itself if I can fit them.

The other idea is just like Steve's idea with the 2 or 3 gauges molded into the lower dash area, if its 2, I can keep the hazard in the stock area. This is the easiest and most cost efficient way, but its also the least useful way as the gauges are so low on the dash.

My other idea would be to mold 2 or 3 gauges in the upper area about the temp display. I like this idea the most, but it would involve the most work since if I'm going to make more than one, it would be better if I made a mold.

For the most part, they will be the typical, resin+fiberglass+glass strand filler process molded with the OEM plastic. FYI the other guy's "cf" dash isn't really cf, its a vinyl overlay, a damn good one, but it's an overlay. Anyways, I saw Steve getting alot of interest, so if I can do this and make something nice and maybe even get some spare change for my freetime.. why not? I'm already doing it for free now...

humm ... I would be interersted, if you can put them up on the dash and keep the NAV. I would want to see them while driving but would not need them when I need the NAV. Question what years are you thinking of doing this for. I read another post and heard that the '05 dash is very different from the 03-04 dashes. I got an '05 so that is why I am asking.

Unfortunately 05's would require me to modify the entire dash if I were to try and put gauges up top, and I don't have the time or willingness to do something along those lines, that's something you'd be better off going to a shop and having done. Audio Excellence (the one out in oviedo) does great work, but they are pricey. I'm not sure who is there now, but in the past alot of their work has been off the wall. All the stuff I'm trying to make is going to be for 03-04's since it will just involve switching out the stock pieces for the piece I make.

Yeah the paint sucks, but its okay there's not much interest around here, so I ended up just making one for myself

Don't have a digital camera, but here's a phone pic of what it's turning out to be.... not as nice as I was hoping, but I still like it better than the pillar gauges.

is there any way to make the gauges slanted forward and turned more towards the driver. Just some friendly feedback. Looks good so far. how much would it be.

Well, $79.50(original stock piece) + ~$18(supplies) + ~4hrs labor since I suck. If I have time I can make them slowly, maybe a piece a week. If I could make a mold I'd pop them out $40-50 bucks a piece shipped, but if I do it the same way I did this one probably $150ish. Not sure if I have time to make them yet, I'll update once I can figure out the details.
