Re: Vortech whistling woes

I did something similar. I initially went to Home Depot to find the coupler and PVC elbow that justICE used. I couldn't find the elbow with threads on outside but did find a couple of similar ones w/o threads. However, I ended up finding a radiator hose with a 90 degree elbow and I cut it down to size instead. I then used a PVC coupler to attach the hose to the K&N filter. It drastically reduced the whistle, but there is still a slight one left (but it is not nearly as annoying!). The sole purpose of this set up is to slightly disrupt the air flow. In fact, if I just put one finger infront of the airflow (without anything attached) the whistle went away completely.

Offtopic, but does the Vortech make the same BOV sound as a turbo?

Hey Kz did you put filter oil on it? I noticed mine still had a very slight whistle untill I put just a tad of filter oil on it.

Re: Vortech whistling woes

No JustICE, I didn't. Maybe I'll try that next (I have K&N filter oil at home). Thanks for the heads up! I'll let you know if there is a difference.
