congrats! I'm installing mine this eekend.

if you haven't yet had yours shipped consider switching to the V3 so you don't have to drill your oil pan.

Congrats OP!!

Advice:

1. Get an oil pan spacer so you don't have to tap the oil pan.
2. If you got the tuner kit, make sure you purchase a walbro 255 fuel pump.
3. GET IT TUNED AND INSTALLED BY SOMEONE WHO KNOWS THE VQ.

Feel free to PM me or AIM me with any questions!

oil pan spacer is fine but I would still tap the oil pan bc vortech will void your blower if it is not tapped. Also, the new blowers are self contained oil so no more tapping.

only he V3 is self contained and it hasn't been released yet.

with the spacer you are tapping the oil pan (in a sense). these spacers are used by pretty much anybody. If what you said were true, you would find a ton of unhappy people.

are u using the spacer bc u might be one of the few that got it to work?

There have been many threads on my350z.com stating that using the spacers may cause the blower's bearing to go bad.

I had mine tapped into the PE oil pan (aftermarket bigger oil pan with fins) and that even messed up the bearings. I'm just stating what the vortech manual says, the techs at vortech and from my own personal experience, there is nothing wrong with tapping the upper oil pan.

If the OP was turbo then it's perfectly fine but the vortech return line needs a higher slope therefore tapping the oil pan is the best option.

Also, the vortech return line is a joke. I would swap that out with a ss line instead to prevent any leaks in the future. The vortech return line is basically a hose and clamps on both ends. To me, that's just asking for trouble when the hose starts to crack and expand.
