Self-healing paint, will it be offered in other Infiniti models?

The self-healing paint in the EX, will it be offered in other Infiniti models? Also, does anyone know if it actually works.

It will be offered on the 09 FX and whenever there is an all-new model introduction.

It's actually the clear coat and it is for minor scratches not deep ones. The EX35 has it.

Yes, it will be phased into the rest of the product line as new models come out.

It works by 'not completely drying' essentially. Any scratch that does not penetrate the clear coat will disappear over time, anywhere from 15 minutes to 1 week depending on conditions.

I'd be more than happy to do a demonstration for you if you come by; you can artificially speed up the healing process with heat.

^Yes, however it only works for a period of time like 3 years and not the life of the car.

Does using sealants or wax affect the abilities of this self-healing paint ?

Mike... is it possible to polish/buff this type of paint? I heard that you cannot.

The extreme heat associated with buffing will destroy the coat.

Wash and wax like normal; no clay, no buffing.

Interesting info. I wonder what happens when the paint no longer self heals itself. Also how much "healing" will it actually do?
