G35 Coupe during winter time?

So i am considering a G35 couple 6MT. I currently own a S2000 and CRV. I purchased the CRV to drive during the winter months (s2000 couldnt do it) I am trying to sell both and get one car. My question is, if needed would the G35 handle the snow well?

Thanks in advance!

Jay

I too got rid of my S2000 for a G35 coupe 6MT...good transition but the extra torque won't help you in the snow

whatever...I have driven mine in snow and ice..and i have been fine. Although, it is worthy to note that many threads have been created about this, and it all comes down to one thing.

TIRES!

Some say snow tires, others say good all season tires...but a big no no for high preformance summer tires in cold weather.

I have the OEM 19s and looking to put all seasons on them when i find a decent set. I also have OEM 17s with the all seasons goodyears that i do drive in the winter with in OHIO and have no problems...

So, G35 as an all year car? yes. I found that it drives better with the 17s in winter than my accord does.

just my two cents...good luch with your decision.

Blizzack snow tires. I drove my G last winter on the all seasons and oh my God ... never ever again. Any car can handle snow and ice. It's all about the setup and the driver.

First year with my G in the snow was ridiculous.....i parked the car and used my wifes G20.

Next season I purchased aftermarket 17"rims and 4 Dunlop Winter Sport M3 snows.......The difference was monumental. Don't get me wrong, you can still get yourself in trouble if your not driving conservatively in the ice/snow.

I would recommend you invest in a good set of winter tires, and drive moderately in the bad weather, and you should be fine...

With 2" Of Snow My G Was All Over The Place, ANY MORE THAN THAT I WOULD BE A SNOW PLOW. And Add Sleet, YEA, DON'T TRY TO PASS ANYONE DOING 5mph, THE REAR END JUST ABOUT WENT IN FRONT OF ME. BUT I GOT THROUGH THE WINTER . THIS YEAR SOME WINTER TIRES AND SMALLER RIMS AND I SHOULD BE GOOD

My G drives awesome in the snow. It's all about having a good set of snow tires and not mashing the gas like it's on dry pavment. I came from an AWD Eclipse GSX...my G35 with my winter tire setup is perfect. NY winters..no problem at all. I can drive into an unplowed parking lot, do mad snownuts and drive out

The S2000 could have done it w/ dedicated snow tires. If you get the RWD G, you will NEED dedicated snow tires. Not all seasons, not some cheap snow tires but quality dedicated snow tires. And a ton of common sense.

I am about to drive up to Rochester, NY where the forecast is for flurries and light snow...I don't think it'll accumulate anything, so do you guys think I will be ok with my summer tires? That is...if I drive extremely safe?

if there is no snow accumulation on the ground then u will be fine. keep in mind though that summer tires start to lose their composure under 45F.
