Unhappy Flywheel chatter. I know it's been discussed but this is loud

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...52965657131155

I personally don't mind but I do mind because a couple of people asked me what that noise is. It's incredibly loud.

Did anyone ever look into fixing the chatter on a lightweight flywheel?

I know exactly what you are talking about. The dealer kept telling me we don't hear nothing, then 1 day I was with a tech and it was bad. The tech said k we will take care of it. My clutch kept falling through and accoridng to records, my g had a brand new clutch and flywheel done from previous owner @ 28k. This time dealer gave me a brand new tranny, clutch n flywheel, so I was like sweet!!! After 5K miles all that chatter came back, so I guess its just what our cars do.

It's normal for cars such as ours that have a stock dual mass flywheel that is replaced with a light weight single mass flywheel. The dual mass flywheel has noise dampening properties by its design. I used to have an ACT streetlite flywheel but ended up removing it because of the constant chatter in the lower rpm band. Thing sounded like a cement mixer on steroids.

stock flywheel rattles. you have aftermarket which is even worse. there is no fix, its just how its by design.

Once I was next to a 6mt G next to a light.. it turned green and the 6mt made the nastiest sound ever like it was a ford escort struggling to run... you guys really need to fix that problem.

I've read about the neutral part, but does it make the chattering when accelerating from low rpms too??? I've been having trouble with this, and the dealership said that it's because my jwt clutch wasn't dual mass flywheel. They said I will need to go back to the oem clutch, and was going to wear out my transmission input shaft??

Is this sound normal when accelerating from low rpms with jwt clutch, or do I need to go back to OEM clutch. THANKS

I always wondered what that was from. I thought my car was dying when I got it.

That noise is completely normal when placing load on the engine at low rpms with a lightweight flywheel. You either get used to it, or go back to the OEM flywheel.

However, I've never heard anything about wearing out the transmission input shaft.
