I've been reading non-stop for 3 days and was beginning to piece together the relevant information ... This is a wonderful collection of question and clear answers, very much appreciated by this newbie. Thanks again. Props to Omaha
![]() Perhaps better in another place, but one follow up question. I've not read a definitive answer as to the benefit of the MREV2 & 5/16 spacer on a 05 5AT (non-rev-up I believe?) ... Are those bolt on applications providing a benefit to my engine? I understand they may be less effective on the AT than they are on the MT, but tell me, is there still a measurable improvement in HP? I, among a lot of other members on here, have reported a noticeable increase in power and engine sound after adding the plenum spacer. Tony at Motordyne has shown 10-15 WHP increases just from the spacer based on dyno results. Also, Tony has aslo shown on a dyno that a non-revup motor shows small gains with the MREV2 and spacer, but significant gains after those 2 mods with a tune. I understand a tune can get expensive, especially with dyno time involved, which may put it out of reach for the average modder. But it will maximize any mods you have done to your car, so if someone is going to tune, it should be the absolute last thing they do after all of their performance mods have been installed. Just my .02. Your thread is awesome BTW, thanks for making all the feel a little more informed.

Thread is full of good information. But, I would think one easy way to decrease the number of threads about Performance Chips is to stop selling ad space for them. I realize it takes money to run the site, but ads for things that are known to be useless are not really helping people learn about their cars.
