Exclamation HELP: Need RIM REPAIR in NJ

I was driving home from work and felt my car drifting to the right. I figured it was a flat so I pulled over and sure enough my tire was out of air. However, upon removing the wheel, I noticed the inner lip had been bent (maybe I ran over a rock even though I don't recall hitting any large bumps) which caused the air to leak out of the tire.

I'm hoping the rim can be bent back into shape. Does anyone know any rim repair services where they come to your house? If so, that would be very convenient.

Thanks!

Here's a picture of the damage Not a very good pic, but I tried to circle where the lip is bent.

Sorry, I don't know of anyone that'll come to your house. There is a place on RT46 in Fairfield that does rim repair called USA Wheels. Take the wheel to them and they might fix it on the spot since its a small bend.

Thanks, I just saw their shop. It's about 25 minutes from my house but I do have to get one main highway to get there. Do you think it's safe to drive on a donut to get there or should I take a different car?

EDIT: Their website says "Our Shop Handles Pick Ups and Deliveries, Covering More Than 500 Miles in Our Local Route" I guess I'll give them a call tomorrow to see if they can do a pick-up.

I wouldn't drive on it, don't make it any worse.

Put your spare on for the short trip.

Is your rim stock or aftermarket? Not really important, but I'm just curious.

If possible, take a different car.

Jack up the car, take off the wheel, and take it in a different car.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the replies. The damaged wheel has already been removed and is sitting in my garage. I am currently driving on my spare (5 minute drive this morning to the train station for work).

My question was, would it be safe to drive to the repair shop (20 miles away) in my G35 Coupe using my spare (I heard you're not supposed to drive far/fast with the spare tire). If not, I can take my aunt's car.

I just thought that if I drove my G35 Coupe to the shop, if they repaired the wheel there on the spot while I waited, then they could just mount and balance it then and there without me having to bring my car back.

By the looks of the pic, do you guys think it can be repaired? I hope I don't have to buy a whole new rim or even worse, a set of new rims.

USA Wheel is great, they fixed my rim right on the spot, just call in advance, took them like 45 minutes to fix it all and put the tire back on the car. 150 for everything, paid cash

UPDATE: I decided to go to USA Wheels. Matt, the manager, is very friendly. They straightened, mounted, and balanced my wheel in less than 24 hours and he gave me more than 10% off.

That's great. I'm glad everything worked out.
