Is it to late to MURDER out my G35?
Hey guys I've had my G35 Coupe 03 for over a year now and it runs GREAT! The car was passed on to me by my father who passed away a year ago. One of the things he would always talk about was having his G35 "Murder'd Out" I mean completely satin black vinyl wrapped with black rims and possibly tinted rear lights and headlights. The car now has 142k milage and since I'm new to the whole G35 still I'm wondering if you think it's to late to make the car all blacked out since it has 142k milage.
Also since I'm not no car expert like my dad what kind of maintenance should I be looking out for with this much milage?
How much longer do you think the G can go for?
Please Help A Noobie!

Infiniti motors are definitely built to survive. Even though it wasn't a G. My dad owned a Q45 about 10 years ago and sold it with 185,000 miles on it. A few weeks ago he bumped into the guy he sold it to. The family still owns the car and it's running with over 250,000 on the clock.
If your dad took care of his G, you should be looking at a nice ride at least for a good awhile.
Throwing more money into it to "murder it out" is totally up to you.

There's a high mileage thread on the forum that I would suggest looking at if you're worried about it being too late. That'll give you an idea on what kind of maintenance you'll be expecting.

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods
Since you're talking about visual mods and not performance mods I say do it. It'll be a cool way to honor your father and it sounds like he took care of the car. It should have no problems getting you to 200K but find a reputable mechanic to fix what you can't. Routine maintenance is more important than ever at 145K so make sure all of your fluids are fresh, spark plugs are replaced, belts are inspected etc. and watch out for common issues like worn bushings, leaky radiators and hoses, failing ball joints, noisy wheel bearings etc. If you start to have these issues fix them as soon as possible and don't worry the car's a POS. They are just wear and tear items that aren't designed to last forever.
Somewhere up there I bet you're Dad is looking down and is very proud of his son so congrats and enjoy your ride.

Co-signed. I agree that this would be a great way to honor your dad in a special way. Do what you think he would have loved and add your own flair as well...perfect rolling memorial! Good luck
