Suggestions on how to ship/package tires/wheels
Hi experts.
Would appreciate suggestions on how to package and ship tires and wheels via USPS.
The tires are mounted on the wheels.
What is the best way to wrap it up and protect the rims?
Do take into account that I am just a regular dude with no fancy packaging resources.
Thanks

first off op.
DO NOT USE USPS.
unless youre buying their more expensive shipping option UPS or maybe the F-word are your way to go here with shipping items like this as you can purchase insurance.their cheap rate bs doesnt come with insurance which means they can just fvck up your chit and not be responsible. I am a clerk at UPS and have shipped plenty of HRE and other high quality wheels and that customers were sending off without any problems. UPS has $100 insurance per box built into their pricing. When shipping wheels its really not that hard. be sure to cover the faces with some sort of carboard so that the entire face will be well protected. I cannot stress making sure it is not a "product against carton" situation. THERE MUST be some sort of insulation ie newspaper foam bubble wrap, to protect the wheels from shifting during transport. trust me...they WILL get thrown. they WILL get stacked with thousands of other pieces inside of a trailer. Some kid loading trailers does not care about your wheels. Thats why it is up to you to make sure they are packed securely and properly. If youre shipping the wheels with tires on them this will help a lot, as they will have more protection due to the tire. make sure the box is strong and durable as like I said they will be stacked among MANY others.
At UPS buildings you can purchase boxes if you dont have any.
see?
pretty common sense stuff- youd be surprised how simple it really is...
1. get good box... wut.
2. protect wheels with padding and to keep from shifting
3. seal with packing tape
4. drive past USPS en route to your local UPS buillding (NOT UPS STORE- franchise crooks)
5. insure if more than $100 ... 90cents per every $100
6. ship wheels.
btw save yourself the trip and print out the labels at home and then either hand to your local brown driver if you see him around town, drop off at UPS building or UPS store (heres where they come in handy since theyre easier to find) or pay $10ish for him to come to your house and pick them up.
What can brown do for you....
I love logist...
