Worth the price for rays?

Rays foundrys dr 505 neo chrome wheels. I have a buddy selling these for 2500 with new tires. They are roughly 15 years old and look pretty decent except one wheel that has a bit of chrome missing like size of nickel also not really in noticeable spot it's kinda where the spoke meets drum. Was wondering if this is worth the price?

If you're looking for rare wheels that nobody has, then I'd say it's worth it. Are those 18x10 +0? They will be kind of heavy though, like if you're used to running te's, you'll be able to feel the difference.

Yes they are those specs exactly. And yea I'm use to running stocks rims and just recently some cheaper after market rims that are a bit heavy

I'm kinda leaning towards them just for the simple fact that not a lot if people have these at all or at least on a G. I wanted new ones but they are roughly 6000$ before shipping which is too much lol. Rather have a SC kit. But for this price I don't think I could pass it up.

If the chrome is peeling, run far far way. It is a massive job and $$ to repair chrome wheels.

That's a lot to spend on wheels. There aren't a lot of people looking to drop that kind of cash and when he finds a potential buyer they'll likely be on the other side of the country where shipping + paypal fees are going to be a killer.

I'd bet that price will come down if you hold off for a bit and maybe occasionally waive some cash in front of him.

If the tires are a good brand then max I would offer is 1800. If the tires are some cheap noname brand, I would offer 1400.
To get a chrome wheel stripped and replated in neo chrome, youre looking at 400-500 dollars plus 2 way shipping (~40-50 buchs each way). Assuming the other 3 are in perfect condition and no chrome issues.

Note
Owner should not leave the chrome peel untouched. Water will get under and chrome will bubble and start to peel. Chrome damage should always be covered with epoxy as soon as possible to prevent further damage.

Yea shipping is not too much if a problem he has a buddy that works for ups and he can get it shipped for pretty cheap. But as for the chrome damage I was thinking of putting some sort of sealant on it like the epoxy and not really mess with getting them fixed well until I get a lil more money as I just finished paying off my G recently. I was just trying to get some opinions on how everyone thought they were worth to them. But thanks for your responses and opinions it's making me think more about this decision

It makes me sad that you think that's a lot to spend on wheels. But it's true, Varrstoen and other replica manufacturers have killed the market. Good info from WhosYourBuddie though, I've never had chrome peel on me so I had no idea. I have looked into the aurora neo chrome coating for other parts and it's way expensive. The price that Rays charges for it is a deal compared to getting it custom done on another set. Those wheels are very rare though, I've been checking out wheels for the last 7 years or so and have only seen a couple sets pop up. I only knew the size because I'd seen them like 3 years ago.
