Anyone drive a Prius?
I know I'll get some heat on this but does anyone drive a Prius as a daily beater?
I'm getting roughly 16mpg in my G and I love it, I feel like me putting crazy miles on the G and spending countless amounts of money on gas is a bad idea and a daily beater would help me appreciate the luxury of our car. Not to mention a Prius is like 6 grand and quadruples my mpg.
Anyone doing this right now? How do you like it?

I get having a different car to drive to help reduce miles on your G. But when people talk about buying another car to save $ on gas I scratch my head & wonder if you did any math to figure out how many years it would take before the 6k + insurance, licensing and maintenance costs paid off in actual savings.

I bought a Honda insight at 60mpg. Incredible.
Got it for $4900
I can't count maintenance, cuz that's what I would have spent on the G anyway (but more so on the G obviously). Registration was nothing and my insurance only went up $10/more (only had liability, plus multi car discounts, etc).
Anyhow, even at an incredible 60mpg and only paying $4900 for it, it would have still taken me about 2 years before it payed for itself. So, yeah, you're right. Even if you're gaining 10mpg or even 20, it will take you a LONG time for it to actually SAVE you money. I gained 40mpg over my G and it still would have taken a little over two years.
I'm not just counting gas either, I'm counting cost per mile (including tire wear, oil changes, etc)

I seriously have fun driving any car or motor cycle. I don't know why, I just love driving regardless of what it is. I'll drive a scooter, an 84 Mitsubishi mighty max, a corvette, an Insight..I'll have fun in anything. I even had fun driving my friends dads 2001 Hyundai accent when he bought it new back in the day. It was light and totally shitty but like nothing I had ever driven before. Kinda like a go kart with a stick. I've had a couple motorcycles, a bunch of old shitty cars that I used to drive and loved. Rented a minivan to drive my band to AZ for a show one time (chrystler town n country) and got 2 tickets in less than an hour. Haha that thing was quick as fug. I just love cars and driving.
