Killer Air Bags!
The news media is going nuckingfuts over air bags made in Mexico that are killing drivers nation wide. Nissan is on the list to have replaced according to them, has anyone heard from Infiniti about have them replaced? I seriously doubt if we'll be notified due to the cost since the media is using the words "Millions" of defective air bags. I'll call my friend who's the parts manager at my stealership and get back...Gary

Not unusual, neither the service manager or parts manager knew anything about air bag recalls at my stealership! They weren't even aware of what the news media is spreading 24/7 about killer air bags, nothing like having your head up your ...! Thanks for posting the feds list of recalls! FEDS, just that word make me question their honesty!

I've worked at a few dealerships, I know parts managers, sales managers, and even owners. Unless there was some huge announcement sent to every dealership for every car affected or they witnessed the news reports themselves chances are they don't know what you're talking about. It would mean the feds would have had to take the list, locate every dealership responsible for using those particular airbags and send them a notice to inform them. I don't think they bothered to do that.

As stupid as this sounds, the recall only applies to two states....Florida and Hawaii. It also applies to Puerto Rico, and the US virgin Islands. That's it. The reason is the humidity seems to be the cause of the issues, so the recal is limited to states with high humidity.
The FEDS are pushing for it to be expanded to all states.
Makes sense, after all what's to stop a car from Maine being driven to FL and sold there? Or what about areas of the country that a humid part of the year.
