Head Room!

Hello everyone. I am hoping somebody on here can help me out.

I am in need of a replacement for my 07 TL which was written off last week. I took a 2009 G37x Coupe for a test drive the other day and there was not enough head room for me. If I stretched out I was rubbing my head against the roof and the seat could not go down any lower. Very nice car but I am not going to slouch in my car because I have no choice. I am not even that tall at 6'2" but I guess I have a longer torso than most. So I am wondering if the Sedan version from any model years would be a better fit for me? I don't trust the specs that I have found because according to what I saw the Coupe I tried should have had more head room than my TL which I fit into very comfortably.

Thanks for any help you can offer. I am interested in 05-08 G35x Sedans (for winter driving)

I have an 06 sedan and have the same problem as you do but I'm only 6'1. I sit significantly taller than my bio dad does in his corvette and he's 6'4.

I fit good in my 06 sedan. I love driving it. Try a sedan and compare.

I should have mentioned in my original post. There is no dealership in town. I just happened to find the Coupe at a used car lot so I cannot check it out. I am planning on flying down to the Toronto area soon to buy a vehicle and I am hoping to know if the G35x sedan will work for me without being able to sit in one beforehand.

Oh I think I found the answer I was looking for and I misread the information yesterday. I believe the 07 sedan will work fine. Getting excited

I'm 6'1" and have never had an issue with headroom. My head isn't even close to the roof in my '06 and I've test driven a number of 09+ sedans and haven't had an issue.

What is your posture? Do you sit up straight?

It was an '09 Coupe. I like the seat leaned back a little but not as much as I had to lean in that Coupe. I like to be comfortable. Nice car otherwise. I believe the sedan version would work for me.

I think most of the Lexus' would be too small for me too. They seem to all be around that 37-38" head room. I need AT LEAST 38"... 39,40 is better.

Anyway I will find out soon enough when I head to Toronto to find a vehicle.

From what I remember when I drove an Lexus IS around was that headroom was an issue in these cars. I had to crane slightly to the right sometimes.

G35/G37 sedan had more headroom which is why I went with it.

Coupe, Premium package, sport suspension
I'm 6-2 with an '06x sedan and have no issues. Only a 34" inseam too so relatively long torso. However I set my seat different from most. I tilt the seat bottom to the extreme. The back is as low as it will go and the front as high as it will go. This folds my legs so the seat is forward more...more rear seat legroom and steering wheel at a comfortable distance. Having the rear of the seat low yields generous headroom even with the sunroof. But I'm butt-scrapin' and hate being behind SUVs, pickups, and panel trucks. So I pass 'em...quickly :-)

That's exactly how I have my seat set too..for same reasons. Gives more leg room and I find it comfortable
