You can change the background color blue to gray or gray to blue. Only for the non navi screen. I believe.

Here's one that many folks don't know. I had my M for quite a few months before realizing this and it works on the G as well.

If you press the status screen it will bring up a few different split screen options. Keep pressing it and it will cycle through a split screen with the audio information on the top with the bottom showing climate, abbreviated GPS turn directions (only if you have a route programmed) and 1 or 2 other screens. It's a lot easier to see the iPod or XM info when you do this.

Give it a try - keep pressing the 'status' button and see for yourself!

Here's one more quick tip I just figured out.

If you voice dial a phone number you don't have to wait for the 'lady' to repeat the phone number. Once you see it on the screen you can just press enter on the steering wheel and it will dial immediately. Sometimes I just don't have the patience for her to read back all of the numbers!

Yet unproven.
That is very true. It is also true for any keyless entry systems.

The arm rest in the back seat, when folded down, has side pockets to store various things. Had forgotten about that as I am not a backseat driver. HA!

For those with Ipod sync to make your playlist shuffle press Scan until you have the setting that you may desire...
Ex of some settings: repeat on shuffle off, repeat off shuffle album etc.
I dont think the owners manual explains this either.

False! It happened to me once. Well i was thinking the same, and did a lil demonstration to my friends. And I looked stupid because I acted all confident that it wont lock, but it did. I had someone come 12 miles to bring the other key. I had couple bags in my trunk. Maybe it blocked the sensor? IDK but it can happen!

Another way to lock your key in if you hold your other one. You put one on the seat and hhave the other in hand. Lock the door and take the key out of range try to open it. You can't. I know why would you do that. Just wanted to point it out.

Something that I didn't know (and it may be on other vehicles as well and more common that I know) but I was actually reading the manual (gasp!) and discovered there is a black box (like airplanes) in the car. It will record the last 30 seconds or so of some parameters (not really clear what they are). This can be read by the police if they should impound your car (like after an accident). It's mentioned it is for 'lessons learned' after accidents, but may have some hefty implications for some. I wonder if some disable the contraption.

That is actually pretty popular in entry to luxury cars. I remember reading something about it in NWT. They only using if there is a fatal accident. They can open it and records all the datas such as speed, seatbelt and some.
