No More Pink Side Mirror Housing on LR
Like most LR owners, it's been a battle to keep the side mirror housings red. I had the drivers side mirror housing done about a year ago but the body shop never did the passenger side as requested. I found a member doing a part out and was able to pick up the passenger side mirror housing and got it painted and cleared. It was helpful to have a spare housing so I didn't have to go without a side mirror for a week. Getting the mirror off the door was easy; getting the motor and mirror assembly was a little more involved but well worth the time to finally have red mirror housings again.

Thanks, much better and easier to keep up now. From the pics of the original mirror housing, I'd pretty much given up on them.

Mike, the pink housing is for sale but I'll save it for you. Interesting look, pink mirrors and wheels on OB......not saying anything more.

I think he's talking about the black mirror base and how you could have painted it body color. I could be wrong, but why in the world would someone want pink wheels/mirrors and I'm from San Francisco!

Why give them away? I paid $25 shipped so I didn't have to go without a side mirror while it was in the shop being painted. If you put pink housings on, I'll give them to you! Ha

^It's a DD but wasn"t always outdoors. Last three yrs it has been. The body paint is good but gets detailed 3 to 4 times a yr. The whole car needs to be clayed but is in very good shape. Nothing I could do with the mirror housings though, wax, rubbing compound all failed. Finally repainted and cleared as they should have come from the factory.

those faded mirrors can be pretty easily brought back to LR with a PC and some good polish...

^ you're right, I was always able to bring them back but they never lasted long. Now that they're cleared it's a lot easier.
