Mobile M-108 / M-110 Oil Filters (Where to buy)?

Hi everyone,

I currently use Mobile 1 Synthetic oil, but I cannot find the M-108 or the M-110 oil filters anywhere in the Bay Area... Can someone please advise where I can buy this filter and which one I should buy? Thanks

I walked into my local AutoZone, and grabbed a couple right off the shelf. I was surprised they had them in stock like that. I thought that I would have to order them. Did'nt see Jesse James.

Just called AutoZone, and they do have them in stock... However, they said that the M-110 will not fit the G35 coupe, rather the M-108 will... I remember seeing a post about this, and some people saying that they wanted to use the M-110... For those that did want to use it, did it fit? And why go to the bigger filter?

Recalling the earlier posts, some people wanted to go with the larger filters because it provided more surface area and might filter better. Others countered that going to the larger size might reduce the overall oil pressure since everything was setup to accomodate the smaller sized filter.

Thanks bro,

I think that I am just going to stick with the 108 size, which is what is recommended for the car. And yes, I agree with the oil pressure theory.

Re: Mobile M-108 / M-110 Oil Filters (Where to buy)?

When I went in, I purchased 2 M-110s. One for the first oil change, and the second because I did not want to have any delays for the next one.

Could someone explain to me how the size of the oil filter has anything to do with the oil pressure? I always thought the oil was sucked up through the pick up tube, through the filter, and then into the pump, which then pushed it through the engine, creating oil pressure inside the engine to lubricate the necessary parts. Oil pressure could vary due to the clearances in the bearing surfaces, the viscosity and temperature of the oil, and the engine RPM.

Let's not forget the oil pressure releif valve that will by-pass a plugged filter !
