It's kinda weird to read this thread. I'd venture to say that out of all the cars sounds people want to mimic, it is usually the G35. And then the G35 guys want something else! I love how the G35 sounds. Unless I was going balls out with FI, I wouldn't touch the exhaust setup.

Tip, if you have a gearwrench type of ratcheting combination wrench you can remove the bolts for the lower resonator without taking off the fender liner or under vehicle cover, just reach in from the top.
Removing the power duct won't change the way the car sounds at all. Removing the resonator under the G-Tube will though.... at least at higher RPM's. Or you could just get a used Z-tube from some Z-owner for like $30 and accomplish the same thing.

The power duct is actually a pretty good design because it funnels/forces fresh air into the intake when the car is moving at decent speeds.

Have had the Z-tube long time (gives a little more growl WOT). Did the HR Y-Pipe last week (added little more growl there too).

Have a muffler shop cut out mid-pipe resonator and replace with pipe. Resonator delete. That should give a nice growl and not stress the wallet too much I guess.
