g35 or CLK

currently own a c240 mercedes and my lease is ending soon.

im in the market for a new car and am really giving myself a headache on which car i want and what i am willing to pay
the two cars which i am considering are the g35 coupe or a used 2003 CLK500 the CLK is about 20,000 more canadian and it look like if i want the CLK i have to lease it for 3 years whereas the g35 the payments are the same but i get to keep the car. i dont plan on having the g35 or the CLK for more then 3 years and really this time round i really want to be happy and have a great time with the car.

the thing is if i get the CLK i wil prolly leave it pretty much stock mayeb some 19" chrome rims

but the g35 i will get 19" HRE 's and DVD, springs so bascially i can pimp it out with the clk it will be a lease
so only rims for it.

what do you guys think?

Re: g35 or CLK

Pimp out the G. I saw an AMG CLK the other day and even though it was sweet, I thought the G was still more stylin.

Re: g35 or CLK

Based on:

1. same payments, but get to keep the G35c
2. if you own the car, you can mod it as much as you like

I would go with owning a G35c myself. The CLK is a nice car, but if you're into modding and driving, the choice is obvious.

Re: g35 or CLK

G35 I like the sporty look, the CLK is more bling bling.

G35 if you want to have fun!

Re: g35 or CLK

I test drove a CLK 500. Damn fast. About .5 sec quicker 0-60 than the Gcoupe. Problem was it still didn't feel sporty, not like the G. CLK only comes in auto. another problem for me.
CLK fast quiet luxory...... G coupe fast sports car......

MERCEDEZ IS DAMN UGLY CAR!!! GOOD ENGINE, BUT UGLIEST CAR IN THE MARKET. IT ALMOST LOOKS LIKE HYUNDAI.... Recently, I got few blondies coming up to me and asked me for a ride.... well that's another story.

Re: g35 or CLK

The CLK500 is the pimper ride but for practical considerations (ie reliability, price, etc) I'd get the G35c.

Re: g35 or CLK

I just drove a CLK500 convertible through a cone course on Friday during a MB driving event. The car lags a little when making steering inputs. The engine is nice though.

Go with the G! Of course, you're on a G forum so what do you expect to hear?

Re: g35 or CLK

OK, I guess I'll be the first to say I would pick a CLK over a G35. Mercedes's luxury is so much more ahead of Infiniti's.

Re: g35 or CLK

I think nobody agrees if MB is an ugly car. it is one of the best car in styling IMO. But, it is indeed less sporty and it is very pricey.

Re: g35 or CLK

Honestly if money isn't going to be an issue I would take the CLK in a heartbeat! It's a nice balance between performance and luxury ... plus despite what everyone says about the ladies diggin' our car, women will always choose the three point star, or blue and white propellar over an infiniti!

Re: g35 or CLK

Personally, I think the previous model year CLK was better looking than the current CLK. The CLK does have one of the highest resale values.

Re: g35 or CLK

Agree, the previous CLK is so awesome and "macho." Whereas the new one is nice but a little bit girlie.
