Car won't start after new LED install.

Hello y'all

I installed some new front side markers on my 06 AT last night. I wanted to change the look and put some clear ones on. The lights came with some LED replacement bulbs that I also installed. Well they worked fine but then this morning when I go to start the car it wont crank. Lights come on, then fade a lil, but I can tell there is not enough juice coming from the battery because of the noise.

So my question is, would it be possible that these lil LEDs are the culprit? They look pretty cheap and were free with the clear side markers.

Also, if it is just my battery, would it be covered under warranty? Car has 43k.

Thanks for any input!

If the lights come on and then fade I bet you don't have enough current to get the car started. Did you leave on your lights while admiring your work last night?

Our cars have auto lights so I don't think leaving the lights on would cause that. I think he was just turning it on/off while installing and it drained the battery. Just get a boost and you'll be ok.

Auto lights shut off at 30 second and 5 minute intervals depending on what position the light swith is set too. Every time you turn off/on, it resets the timer

pics plz

The car doesn't have the automatic lights off feature. The lights were off because when I got in the vehicle I checked the lights. When I was installing the lights I left them on for no more than 7 minutes.

Is that enough time to drain the battery? I don't believe it is. I have noticed that when starting the vehicle in the past few weeks its takes it a bit longer to start up. I have to have the key turned for a few seconds for the car to start. It does stutter though.

Maybe time for a new batter? Could more cranking amps help my start response time?

Thanks once again

Not sure where you are located, but in this instance if you have been noticing a difference on start up before this I would just take it to autozone or wherever and have them run a test on the battery.

I'm in Texas so we have Autozones here. Do you know if I jump the car and drive it there, could they test the battery while it is in the vehicle? Or do I have to remove it and take just the battery to them?

Also, I bought the car at Carmax less than a month ago, im wondering if they would replace the battery since its under warranty with them or if battery is considered normal maintenance.

You would need to remove the battery from the car for them to test it.

Good luck.

I will have to agree with others and say it is most likely your battery. Jump start it and drive it around to let the alternator charge it up and see what happens.

It's your battery. I had the same problem several months ago. I also noticed that my G would take a bit longer to start up and before I got around to changing my battery, my G died on me. So I jump started her and got the battery replaced, problem solved.

Thanks y'all. Battery was the culprit! Got a new one installed and everything is running good now.

my guess is that your LED install coincidentally happened right around the time your battery was gonna fail anyway
